I ordered a bunch of vaping doughnuts and I didn't know this at the time but they explode!

So what my question is would filing notches into them prevent this?

Meaning instead of having a full circle you have what looks like a vaping cog.

My idea is that a notch would redirect the lines of stress.

I don't have them yet as of posting this, but I will be conducting this experiment on them.

You didnt say what you got.

Most of the exploding mods are people thst cant be bothered to learn battery safety snd out of stupidity they abuse their batteries until they go boom.

nope, that would introduce stress fracture points... and finding a file that can cut ceramic........

I was going to use a high speed dremel with the cutting wheel.

But since you say it won't work I'll have to proceed with caution with these things.

they dont explode... they simply crack and stop working....

I tried those long ago and the ramp up time was, well quite long. Never tried them after that. I did however find a ceramic that works really well. Check these out.
