No, you don't need 5 different threads, just 5 post's ... but then you'll need to wait about 30 minutes for the forum to refresh

No, you don't need 5 different threads just 5 posts. As Daleron mentioned it does take a bit for the server to update. I believe it's like 20 minutes after the hour. Welcome to the forum, we're glad to have you here!
What these guys said ^^^ The server updates at 25 past the hour. Your posting permissions should be updated so you can venture outside New Members and post in most places now, but there are a handful of forums that won't open up to you until 15 posts
