Thanks Dieseler. I also wanted to add that on the c, I'm using the hard caps without problems. On the T's for the B tanks, I use the soft caps - again without problem.

On the c - one shouldn't vape it dry - that will burn the wick and the gunk around the coil leaving a burning flavor even with new ejuice. And when you remove a tank with just a bit of ejuice left - my recommendation - you may experience a leak on removal - I remove sideways not upright - but it won't be much and so far none while vaping.

I've run into issues since switching to the silicone caps with no juice getting to the wick and having to shake the PV a bit to get it started. I noticed just now when putting in a new tank that there was a large bubble in the cap, blocking the juice from getting to the hole in the cap.

I tapped the tank a couple of times with the battery before putting it in -- the bubble let loose and the juice wicked immediately.

Will I do any damage to my eGo-T atties if I boil them for 10 minutes or so (then let them soak a bit)? I don't have to mess with the wick at all before cleaning do I?

I know there are many methods to cleaning atties, this sounds like the easiest so I'd like to try it first, but want to make sure there isn't a high chance of doing more harm than good. I have a couple gummed up atties (hard to pull on them, significantly diminished vapor) I'm ready to clean.

I'm by no means an expert on how the eGo atty is constructed but from what I saw when doing a wick modification on mine, it would makes sense to me to take off the tank and needle plate before doing any cleaning. Chances are that the wick needs to be cleaned or replaced if the draw is that bad. It's the air passage between the tank and your lips when drawing on your PV. Some say to dry burn the atty a few seconds with the wick needle removed, some say don't ever dry burn an atty. I am convinced that there are about as many methods as there are chili recipes. If you dry burn a heater element with no cooling fluid (juice), you'll burn it out. If you are cleaning it then burn it for a short time to clear the gunk (JMHO).

One thing I would do to troubleshoot your atty is to remove the needle plate and do a dry cold draw (no battery, no tank, no needle plate), on the atty. If it is still restricted than the passages are clogged with juice residue. If not then the problem is your wick or your tank. You simply can't tell with a wick installed and a tank in place.

I dry burned mine to clean them when I replaced the wicks. Only about 2-3 seconds and then let it cool off, burned them again and then installed my modified wicks/needle plates. Both eGoT's vape like a freight train now.

What I mean when I say dry burn is that the needle plate is removed and sitting on your table, the atty is connected to the battery and you mash the button while taking a short draw on it with no tank installed - Don't inhale the nasty - Puff it out and press on.

I hope you get your draw fixed and get your vape fixed.

Vape On!

I just got some fluid/condensation build up at the top of the tank closest to the inhale hole and was about to give it a soak and let it dry in the sun but curiosity got the better of me and I put a bent paper clip in the inhale hole and popped the top section out, gave a wipe down and its like new again. (probably a well know function but I was surprised)

I am still waiting for it to leak and get to the chuck out stage but it has been about a week and about 40-50ml of juice.

If you remove both of the restrictors in the mouthpiece you'll fine condensation is reduced a bit, when it does build up a piece of paper towel twisted tightly will dry the side ports easily...I'm sure everyone has already figured that out.

Just fyi, I've found the baffles in the mouthpiece to be less of a factor with the eGo-c's. I've retained both in the c's but remove the inner one in the t's mostly...

I was stranded on a desert island o'work shortly after I started vaping; equipment, eGo A starter kit. I mention being busy because I did not have time to check this forum for tech support, order/learn to useI new equipment, or eat breakfast for that matter, which is the only context in which this situation makes sense. I had clogged both atty's pretty thoroughly when I was first playing with them, but I kept using them, blowing them out every day and giving them a wipe but no time to (learn to) clean them properly. This went on for a month. The batteries were indistinguishable, except that the button on one is slightly crooked relative to the tank when the tank is lined up. (yes I know carts are better, hope to order some this weekend)

I ordered a new atomizer when I had a minute. I'd actually gotten so used to the clogged ones that I suspected eGo A's were a little weak for me, but I thought I'd give it one more shot before trying a different model.

The new atty came, and it vapes fantastically, better than anything I've tried yet! But, and I found this really odd, it only vapes well with one of the batteries. The new atty vapes exactly like the old ones with the 'crooked' battery.

My best guess is that the dysfunctional battery is clogged somehow, although it doesn't explain why it works the same with the old attys. I read about cleaning batteries somewhere in this vast forum, but can't find it? Is it possible that the problem has to do with the connection between the parts? eGo's may prove to be a little too temperamental for me in the long run, but it's sure a great vape tonight...

Been using an egoT with the stock tanks for a week now and it's working great for me. I may be the only one around here who prefers the vapor and TH from the tanks than all the cartos I tried. I have been vaping about 3 - 4 ml of juice per day. Wrote up a mini review of my setup and a comparison between tanks and cartos here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-my-first-big-purchase-egot-cartos-juice.html. Hope this is helpful to someone.

Here's a method for cleaning C atty's, I believe it'll prolong their life, maybe indefinitely.

I picked up an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner at Harbor Freight to clean my old T style atty's, it did an ok job, not great...not the case with these C units.

With a cup of boiled water in the cleaner I dropped in a gummed up atty and spike/wick plate, I positioned the atty part facing up so I could see the coil, after 2 three minute cycles the coil was spotless and looking new again, same for the wick, right back to white.

Once removed and blown dry I performed the dry burn to see if the coil was firing all the way across, indeed it was. Not having to dry burn should definitely prolong their life.

I seem to have better luck and far less leaking with the A style tanks, when the juice level in the B style tank gets to about the edge of the cone leaking starts, that might be due to the larger amount of air in the tank pushing the liquid past the seal.

Another helpful fix that's worked pretty well requires you to make a hole punch out of a small diameter ink pen cartridge, a clean hole in your silicone caps works way better than the hole that's torn in the cap by the spike, the caps will last way longer as well.

Do you mean the cap the goes over atty? I just got my ego t today...couple good draws then burnt taste? What's up?

I rebuilt my C model wicks this evening using 1800 degree silica thread I received as a sample, it's 1/8" diameter and had to be unraveled for the smaller pieces required, I had no choice but to rebuild all 5 wicks, when I dropped them in the ultrasonic cleaner using very hot water they pretty much fell apart and were unusable.

I unwound the steel mesh filler material from a used T model atty, cut a 1/8" piece and rolled it around a paper clip, then with a looped piece of twisted thread run thru the small piece of steel mesh I pulled the new wick material up into the new steel mesh hat, carefully installed the new wick in the spike plate, trimmed the excess and good to go, they work great.

I did have prob w leakage....a few 8-10 drops of VG corrected this prob.
Also...I realized I did not have the cart seated down correctly and did not have an appropriate size hole in the cart door...that's why I was getting dry burn on my atty.

I wish the place I purchased for had included a instruction manual. I did get a pamphlet w my order but it was very very brief and did not go into all I needed to know to get a good vape. I plan to leave them a very polite review...I'm happy w them over all...fast service. Good fluids. I just had to step out and grab a 6.29 dollar bottle vg...( would of helped to know I would need this before hand too)

I found the following links sooooooooooo helpful!!!

Link for joye ego t instruction manual:

vaporpro.com. ( search ego t...leads to FAQ/ quick start manual)

cig not.com. (place to order soft end caps....really really cheap. I plan on ordering some too.)

e-cigarette-supply.com
. (genuine ego t starter kits for 38.95 +15 sh. These are per market before vape co put their logo on them and raise the price to 70 or more bucks. Prob comes w better intructions too.)

Annnndddd...all the great folks in this forum were very very helpful. Thank you all!!

I plan to copy and paste this to other threads I commented on in regards to my ego t probs...it gets enough bad press...lol!! I prefer the tank over refilling cartos...

Another thing I note of I portance to leave w other noobs like myself who will be joining the ranks....

Before you fill your tank. Put empty cartridge tank & seat it good...then give it a few turns, take it off....when you take the door off go a head and take off the plastice tab from piercing the tank w your attty...it can get stuck to while you're Vaping and taint your fluid w a horrible plastic taste...!!!! I share my trial & error w you!!

Mine sometimes leaked with 100% PG. Mix in 20% VG and problem solved.

Get an LR atty for more vapor.

B is a little better than A, for me anyway. A little more vapor and twice the juice capacity.

I finally tried the LR atty and still have no idea what the big deal is- much harder draw no matter what juice I used so I will stick with the standard. As for leaking, as long as the juice does not get below half it seldom leaks. IMO anyway. I did switch to the B and love it- have not tried the C yet.

I had a learning curve with the egoT but do not plan to switch systems like so many seem to do on here. Maybe it's an age thing, but I also do not want to do this for years.
