Postage Due.. wth?

I've been waiting for vapemail and received a USPS notice that postage is due on my package so they didn't deliver it. WTH? They will redeliver today but I won't be home to I left the due amount in an envelope and a note for Mr. Postman. Will they take the money and deliver the package? Anyone have this happen with vapemail?

I've never seen this happen.

Thinking about it, there's only 2 reasons this would happen to begin with. Either the shipper offered free shipping and changed his mind, saying this is a COD shipment, or the shipper forgot to add shipping to the purchase price and couldn't legally charge you a second time without authorization.

Either way, you're dealing with a shady transaction in my opinion.

Actually it could be as simple as miss-calculated weight if shipped First class.

I agree the weight could have been off at point of packaging... Thus they need it at delivery. How much was it?

If the seller weighed the package himself and printed out the postage (using Stamps.com, a rented postage meter, etc.) and gets the weight or size wrong, the Post Office will correct it when they weigh or measure it.

I would contact the seller for a store credit or something...

They will exchange it for the postage due as long as you have requested redelivery. If they don't know that you are leaving the money ahead of time, the package will still be at the post office.
