Is there some way to post links to other messages without doing the normal HTML post link route (go to message, copy address bar http:// stuff, create new message, insert link, type printed text, type anchor address)? Seems people know a shortcut that I'm simply too stupid to find. I've read the faq (RTFM) to no avail.

copy the link location of the post in question which is the number in the upper corner of the post or use the link back url.
Huh? I'm interested in learning how to do either one of these but am not having much luck in finding info in the FAQ.

Could you expound on that a little more? I know how to make a link to another post although I didn't know you could right click the post number as a short cut. But to link to a post in another thread, wouldn't you still have to find the thread, then find the post to make a link. Rather lengthy process, especially considering how busy the board has been lately.
There must be a faster way, a shortcut, that we don't know about.

There may be a better way but if so, I don't know it either. I can't imagine how you could come up with a link for a post without first going to the post. If someone does know how, please do tell us!
One thing I do though (and some browsers make this easier than others) is when I am posting a message with links, I first duplicate the page I am on. This gives me a new browser tab (or in some cases, a new window) on this site in which I can locate the post I want to link to. Then just copy the URL to the clipboard, go back to my other tab where I was composing the post and paste it in. You can also get the URL from the thread list (instead of clicking on and opening the thread first) if you know what I mean.

Sure the number i refer to in this quoted case you are post #4 so i can in firefox right click and copy link location then paste it in any post to refer to it http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ting-area/36004-posting-links.html#post565585 see for example when clicked it will pull up the post Number 4 in this thread and the same technique could be applied to other threads i will post another example shortly.

and yes you would still need to find the post but you could use the with the thread title as well.
