Posting pics here from iPhone 7+, how to?

I'm pretty new to iPhone and iOS in general.

Every time I take a picture on my iPhone and try and post it here the forum says it's too big. On my android phones I've always just set the resolution down to take smaller file size pictures. So to post pictures here I've either been using my Samsung galaxy S8 or emailing the picture I want to post to myself from my iPhone so I can open it on my computer, edit it down, emailing it back to myself so it's on my phone and then I can post it. That, TBH, is a pain!

There has to be an easier way to do it on the iPhone doesn't there? I don't seem to be able to even find the size in mb of pictures on the iPhone.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

For some reason, the max size of images that can be uploaded was knocked down. I'm in the process of finding out why, and hopefully we'll be bumping it back up to something reasonable within a couple of days.
