Okay, I've been using my Derringer for a couple of days now and it is fantastic - definitely one of my favorite RDAs. I also have a Derringer clone coming from fasttech... should be interesting to compare it to the authentic. I also ordered all of the clone top caps and drip tips. I hope they work well on the authentic deck.

I'm really regretting not getting one of the clones with all the extra caps and drip tips. At $15 for JUST a delrin drip tip for this thing (from everywhere I've looked), are you kidding me? For another $7 I can get an entire other deck AND 5 caps. Looks like that's what I'll be doing. I just can't STAND how hot this SS tip gets. Even bumped my voltage down to 3.6 and I can't chain vape without burning my lips.

I'm loving this and for most of all the points you made. I got an authentic from a local B&M here and have it set up with my VA Black Chaplin drip tip. With that on there and rocking a .08 build I can pretty much chain vape with the airflow wide open. I love this atty, finally something that had kicked my 454 down to my #2.

Yeah, I hear you. I have $85 in the authentic atty (modified for bottom feed) and another $41 in the authentic black cap and drip tip. I didn't lose much sleep ordering the extra clone stuff.

Just updating this again. I recently picked up a Cigreen Derringer clone off eBay because I love mine so much and wanted a second. I got the delrin white option with delrin white drip tip hoping that i could just use the top cap on my existing base. They turned out to be different diameter, and in actuality, the Cigreen version is MUCH nicer machining than the one I had. So, now I have 2 that will be in rotation depending on how I want it to look and what build I want to run hehe.

I'm watching you...hehe. Curious as to what you discover. Been eyeing a Derringer clone too.
Thanks

I ordered a clone 2 weeks ago and can't find any fault with it!:?: I've been using it with a nickel build 0.15 single coil,on my Vapor Flask,at 35 watts, and the temp set to 440 degrees. I went with the Delrin one in case it got too hot. It works like a charm, tons of vapor and flavor over the top!:) The thing I like most about this RDA is with the nickel build,I can vape it until dry,and drop the VF with the Derringer on it in my pocket without any juice running out of it! I have hardly used my tanks, since I got it.

I had long forgotten about my Derringers since I have received so many new attys in the past months. Seeing this thread pop up reminded me about it, so last night i pulled one out, threw a 24ga spaced 7 wrap 2.5mm dual coil in it, and have been vaping it since. I forgot how warm and dense the flavor is and how little wattage i need to throw at it. May keep it on the ipv4 for a little while before i decide to build a squonker and modify it for bottom feed :hehe:

They make a perfect little bottom feed atty.I've been rockin a black modified one for a few months, and just ordered a stainless one that will get modded as soon as it comes out of the package haha.

I have a derringer clone and I like it but I do mouth to lung inhales (MTL) and single coil builds so I end up doing ghetto modificiations to restrict the air flow, mostly with bits of tape. I wish there were more RDA versions with MTL in mind. Mostly that would mean the center ring would have only one hole and same with the outside ring. For MTL I only need a fraction of one of the hole sizes. In a perfect world I could get barrels with no holes or only a tiny hole and I'd enlarge that but I also have a complete fractional drill set, drill press and production vice, things most people don't have. Why couldn't there be a Derringer version with no inner ring and just one hole for MTL?

Got mine today and... It is really good but not really impressed. Maybe it's how i did my build but... 0.38 ohm with 24 gauge kanthal and i have to constantly drip every 4-5 hits as it dries out pretty fast... This is really thirsty... If i put too much liquid i end up drinking.

But it looks good i will try different builds. Single coil, maybe more cotton.

These are 3 mm id coils

Edit:

On my fav liquid, the binary array it seems it dries out pretty fast, but if i try another eliquid it lasts longer, at least in my opinion. It seems the flavour lasts more. The first is more lemonade cirtus and green apple, the second one is more orange zesty one guess for more crispy flavour it gives a short initial burst then settles and I like more the head of the flavour of the Array, while the body and tail it might be lighter than the body and tail of the second e-liquid

Or maybe i am overthinking about this :)
