Hi everyone!

I have a question about a prebuilt coil I’m looking for. I apologize in advance for my
“noob-ness” but I’m trying to learn.

Im using a 28g single twisted coil in my Wraith squonker. The vape shop put it in for me. I want to have extra pre-builts on hand, because I can put singles in myself. I can’t seem to find any online that match what I have.

What “term” should I search by? I’ve tried searching by the ohms (0.3-0.4) and the gauge, but am not sure if that’s correct.

Any help you could provide would be most appreciated.

Thanks, Stacey

Just type in twisted prebuilt coils for vaping.

Stacey what kind of RDA do you have. Can you send us a pic of your coil
Thanks for your replies!
I am using the RDA that came with the Council of Vapor Wraith. Here is a picture of the coil.

    Hi Stacy.

If your not in a big hurry to get them, Fasttech has a Large Selection of Pre-Coiled Coils. Just search for "Pre-Coiled Coils".

    FastTech - Gadgets and Electronics

I've used a Lot of the MKWS Brand Coils. And have found them to be Very Good, Quality Coils.

    $1.89 Authentic MKWS 316L Stainless Steel Mix Twisted Pre-Coiled Wire (10-Pack) - 26 AWG / 0.4mm dia. / 0.2mm*0.8mm flat size / 0.35ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Thanks! The thing I’m not sure about is the MM I.D....I have no idea about the wraps. what would give me 0.3-0.4ohm?
These look great if I can figure out the MM id...

    Scroll down a bit:
I would suggest 5 wraps at 3mm and adjust your wattage a bit to compensate for the lower amp draw.

FYI: you can use the Stainless steel coils in wattage mode and/or Temperature Control mode.

    Cheers

We don't have all of the information. There are 4 things you need to know to reproduce (or purchase pre-built replacements) a given coil. The gauge, the material, and the diameter and the number of wraps. You can using calculators have a reasonable change at figuring out any one of those variables IF you have the other three. However, we only have two, the gauge (28ga) and the number of wraps (5). In this case with it being twisted we also need to know the number of "strands" in the twist.

Since we don't have the diameter, the material, or the number of strands in the twist, all we can do is find some other coil that gives a similar resistance rating. It may or may not produce the exact same vape. It might be better it might be worse. It might take more or less power.

If you want the replacements to be as close as possible to what you have you may have to go back to the shop and ask them some questions. Specifically, what is the wire made of (Kanthal, SS[what type], etc.), what diameter did they use and how many strands in the twist. You might also confirm the gauge while you are there.

If you really don't want to ask, you can get a reasonable approximation of the ID by finding some type of rods of known diameters and see which ones fit inside tightly without stretching or warping it. You can also try to count the number of strands. With that we may can reverse calculate the material.
