I'm sorry that was irresponsible of me to vent and not help with original subject.

The coiling jigs from coilmaster or kuro will make it a snap to make micro coils. Any jig out there will help you make coils. Even with the coiling jigs, you still need a lot of patience and practice. One of my greatest investments were ceramic tweezers so I could fire and manipulate the coil on my device to get rid of hot spots and make sure it heats from the inside -out.

Always make sure before firing on your device you check it on an ohm meter to make sure it's not reading something crazy low or way to high. I guess make sure the ohm reader has the coils at your desired ohm before putting it on your device and start firing.

Yeah i would prolly never return to that shop again. Anyway, Finding regular pre made coils is hard. however, finding clapton and caterpillar coils is waayyyy easy. just do a google search, even if you have to buy them from a US company most will ship overseas. also, STAY AWAY FROM EBAY. you dont want some dummy in his moms basement selling you a coil that will blow your mod out

A coil doesn't have to be perfect to work. Right now, I'm vaping on a dual coil setup that looks as if one of my cats put it together. (Well, maybe not quite that bad, but you get the idea). The two coils heat evenly and from the middle to the edges of the coils and the flavor is wonderful!

You'll get the hang of it.

True, but nice neat builds make for longer lasting juice, and waaayyyyy less dry hits. get good at it and it pays off!

I bought one of these awhile back...

2112002-6.jpg

$6.67 Universal Tools Wire Coiling Tool w/ Phillips & Slotted & Hex Key Screwdriver Bits - blue / 3.5mm + 3.0mm + 2.5mm + 2.0mm winding rods at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I didn't have much Expectation of it working. But for 7 Bucks, what the Hey. It Actually Works Quite Well. And the Mandrels come in Handy for Holding the Coil when Mounting it. It also came in a Plastic Box so things Don't get Lost.

Then one day I saw these...

2133202-1.jpg

$2.18 Pre-Coiled Wires for RBA RDA RTA Rebuildable Atomizers (50-Pack) 50-pack - 29 AWG / 1.1ohm / 0.3mm dia. / 15*15mm leads / 5 loops at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I figured that they would be Junk. But for $2.18 ? How I could I not? I have to say, they work Fine. The Ohms are Right on the Money. Each Coil is the Same. Not Much to not like about them.

I'm not sure why Everyone would not have a Bag of these in the Vape Tool Box. If not just for when you are Feeling Lazy. And just want to pull out a Pre-Made Coil.

I just noticed a few days ago that Fasttech started carrying pre-built nickel coils. A little more expensive than kanthal, but still a bargain IMO. $9 for 50 coils. I bought a package of 0.1 ohm and a package of 0.15 ohm.

Be Sure to Check each one of those Coils with a Good Ohm Checker when you Mount the Coil.

You have to play Close Attention when ever you go below .25 Ohms or so.

Those are part of my vapocalypse plan, since due to hand problems I physically can't make coils. I'm still working on figuring out which RDA and RTA would be easiest to mount them in, since that's also a "manipulate tiny objects with numb hands" problem.

I recommend that you just keep practicing building coils and wicking them. Practice does make perfect.

I don't particularly like wicking and making coils myself, but I do it because of the cruddy quality of factory made coils. I wasn't that good at first either, but they progressively got better with each attempt.

Perspectively, wire and cotton is cheap compared to store bought coils. I haven't seen the need to resort to a coil making gig, but from those who have them they speak favorably about them.

You really should try some of these Coils before you Judge them. They are As Good or Better than Anything I can Make.

By "factory made coils" I meant clearomizer and cartomizer coils made by the likes of China factories.

I was not judging the quality of the individual premade coils. I guess I should have been more specific.

No Problem.

Like I said, I was Pleasantly Surprised as to How Consistent they are in both Ohms and in their Windings. And for the Price they are asking for them, it Isn't Exactly going to Break the Bank picking up a bag of 50 or so.

:)

Its so easy to make coils though. And you can make the exactly how you want, with however many wraps and at very specific resistance targets. Coil jigs can help if you have shaky hands, but I prefer a small screwdriver. I don't usually use higher than 24g wire though, so that may be the issue. Trying to wrap some really tiny 30g or something... I can see how that would be a little bit more time consuming to get something so thin and fragile to line up right.

But still good practice all the same. I started with rebuilding kangertech coils than on to bvc coils then my rdas. Each kind posed there own challenge but in the end, again with patience and practice eventually it got easier.

I do have to say that buying the coils from FT looks like a great deal especially for the nickel wire, I just don't like their lead time. By the time they got here I probably could have wrapped triple the amount I ordered lol. Thank you for that link jseah.

A week and a half ago, Fasttech didn't even offer the nickel coils. I placed the order for the coils last week and just got shipping confirmation over the weekend. So it did take them about 4-5 days before they shipped. I'll probably get them in a week and a half. I'm in no rush. If you're in a rush to get something, then definitely Fasttech is not the place to order it.
