When I smoked analogs I would smoke about 23 of them in a 24 hour period. A little over a pack a day.

I'm currently using an 808 cig-a-like with pre-filled cartomizers. I could swear that I vape more than I used to smoke but I've noticed something that, according to what I've read on this forum, most members would disagree with based on their own experience.

One of my pre-filled cartomizers will last me generally about 26 hours. In other words, I really am getting the equivalent of a pack a day out of my cartomizers. A little more than that as a matter of fact. I take long draws when I vape and I even discard the cartomizers when the vapor gets weak, before I get that burnt taste associated with a dry cartomizer. Factor in the concept that I vape more than I used to smoke and I'm getting quite a bit more than a pack a day out of them.

I've read several comments on the forum in the short time that I've been here stating that the "equivalent to a pack a day" claim cannot be taken seriously. My personal experience has been just the opposite. I consider myself lucky.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. Am I the only one?

I started with 808 cig-a-likes and they weren't bad at all. Didn't keep me off cigarettes (took egos to do that) but I definitely cut down. I can't really argue about whether or not they are the equivalent of a full pack but what I didn't like about them was that the cartos seemed to always run out at a bad time (since you can't tell how much juice is remaining). So I might *remember* them as running out frequently (when maybe they didn't, I just remember it more).

I hope that makes sense.

The other thing I remember is that they were expensive (close to three dollars a carto).

PS - By the way, you do know that you can (probably) refill those cartomizers a couple of times, don't you? That can work out to quite a savings.

The wife and I both were about 1PPD smokers and when we first switched to pre-filled cartos full time we were both getting about 2 days out of a carto and paying $12 for 5 of them. So to us 5 cartos seemed to be equal to a carton which we were getting for $12/each instead of about $50/carton of analogs. The batteries we got were initially lasting us all day but after 2/3 months started lasting a lot less. This is why we moved up to eGos.

This is what we started with:
Electronic Cigarette Store, Electronic Cigarette Kits, Electronic Cigarette Brands

it just varies from person to person is all and yes you are lucky

someone above recommended you refill you own, i agree with that, with your setup this is ridiculously simple and you can save a bunch of money

remove cap, drop drips down the side of carto until the batting looks slushy, leave upright for and hour or so, vape

I only used cartos a little over a week. I went straight from smoking a little under to right at 1 PAD to exculsively vaping. I only vaped slightly more often than I would have smoked. A prefilled carto would last more than a day and a half. However, when I refilled them I only got slightly over 1 day.

I don't know if this part is normal but trying to maintain the same usage habits on a clearo I use the whole 1.6ml in a day.

Bottom line... don't matter what you use as long as you are happy and smokefree. I still go back and use my starter kit of kr808d-1's. I loved them. I am just a heavy tooter so I like the bigger batteries. I've got a vv but have not used it much yet. (burnt a brand new atomizer like a green tomato). I just love my new hobby and I hope the excitement never wears off.

You're lucky, mostly. Also, if your join date is any indication, your lungs probably haven't opened up yet. When I first started with pre-filled cartos, I would get about 3/4 of a day with them. And I used to smoke 3 packs a day. But after a few months I would get maybe 4 hours out of a carto if I was lucky. The ohms and volts play a part in it too. Your 808 is running at 3.7 volts more or less, and your cartomizer is anywhere from 2.6-3.0 ohms. So you'll definitely be burning less juice than someone running a 4.8 volt battery with a 1.5 ohm atomizer. And that doesn't even compare to the 0.1 ohm quad coils some people claim to vape on their mechanicals.

So yeah, you're lucky now. ;)

This is a simple physics problem...

How much juice does your cartomizer hold?
My guess is about 1ml or less.

Now look at this poll...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/polls/153112-how-much-juice-do-you-use-per-day.html

If that thing is lasting you a whole day, you are an EXTREMELY light vaper.

I just checked the SmokelessImage website and you're right. I'm using their cartomizers and they list them at 1ml. Holy crap! I'm a lightweight!

Thanks for all the suggestions about refilling them myself. I will probably do that someday but when I do I will most likely advance to clearomizers or something similar. I'm not quite ready to take that plunge just yet though.

I'm glad to read that some folks get a whole pack or more out of them too. I know we are all different but I was beginning to think I was doing something wrong although I couldn't imagine what it might be. Good to know I'm just a light vaper.

This is true. The volts of the battery and the resistance of the cartos definitely plays a part in how long they last. Most cig-a-likes have 3.3-3.7 volts and a high enough resistance in the coils that the wattage is kept fairly low so they last longer.

I used greensmoke and mysmokeless when i first started vaping. A my smokeless cartridge lasted me over 24 hours when I first started and I didn't smoke any cigarettes. I use to smoke at 25 to 35 cigarettes a day depending on what I was doing. So I think it depends on the brand. In fact I used them for three days before I realized it wasn't smoking. Congrats and if you like them enjoy. I now have a few mods, because I got tired of recharging the little batteries.

I am curious though. Are you using mysmokeless?

No. I started out with TECECIG brand products because they have a kiosk set up in the local mall. They aren't too bad really. I'm quite fond of a couple of their flavors but their batteries are rather weak compared to what I'm using now.

For the past week or so I have been using SmokelessImage products exclusively. I use their Volt standard batteries and their standard cartomizers.

I smoked for 25 years and only vape 0.5ml - 1ml a day and that's at 6mg on an ego-c system.

Nothing weird about it if that's all you need. You'll save a shed ton of money if you can stick to that and not get the buying frenzy as long as what you're used to still satisfies you. No need to chain vape all day if you don't fill the need either, I caught myself doing it and thought to myself 'what are you doing hotwire?' I realized i was because I COULD. Now I treat it like having a cig, just have a few draws until I feel satisfied and then get on with my life until I would have normally had another cigarette and then vape around 5 - 10 draws again and put it away.

No need to get obsessed with it or let it become a hobby if you don't need to. For me it's just a less harmful replacement, not a hobby and I hope I never do need over 1ml a day, don;t see the point. Only smoked around 7 a day for the past year anyway, so my vape patterns now match that and I no longer chain vape because I can.

Just some simple advice if you want to keep it cheap and simple.
