Using a DIY calculator, input your desired PG/VG ratio, nic level and flavoring percentage for the total amount you will be mixing. I would figure it for 30 ml first to see what your total volume without flavoring will be per 30 ml bottle. Then mix everything together except the flavorings, cap it and store in the fridge.

When you are ready to mix some up, just add the amount of base to the bottle and add your flavoring.

My normal flavoring percentage is 20% of my total juice volume. For 30 ml of completed juice it would be 24 ml base and 6 ml flavoring.

I used to mix like this when I first started, it made it quick and easy to whip up a few bottles. I now mix per bottle and play with the percentages because I have different juices I prefer at different ratios for different builds.

This makes sense to me as I'm typing but not sure how it comes across , let me know if you have any questions :)

I do basically the same thing B2L stated. I keep a bottle of 50ml pre-mixed at my preferred ratio (30PG/70VG) with 12mg nicotine. I use this base when I want to test some flavors or flavor combinations. I will mix up a 3ml or maybe 5ml batch of the flavors, using an e-juice calculator.

By having my pre made mix at 12mg nicotine I am reducing that nicotine amount slightly when I add in flavoring, but working with small batches for testing it ready isn't an issue. When I find the combination and percentages I like I make a batch in either 15ml or 30ml in a bottle from scratch.

I am leery of making huge batches because my tastes will change. There is only one flavor that I have stayed with, without modifications.

Good luck and enjoy!

I have two bases I work from, both are 6mg. One is a 50/50 PG/VG and the other is a 25/75 PG/VG.

I mix my flavours as needed on 30ml batches. (Menthol for hubby, vanilla bourbon for me).

When I make up new flavours I do it in 5ml batches and test in my dripper. If its a good one, I will make that up in 30ml, hot water bath & then put in dark cupboard to steep for two weeks.

HTHs

Blessings!

I do about 10% higher nic, as I use mostly TFA flavors and am right around 8-12% flavoring in my mixes. I don't notice the difference if the final nic level is 11,12 or 13mg. If I was mixing for others, I would be more accurate, but for us, it works fine. It makes throwing together a trial batch quick and easy.

I use an altogether messier method, since I am not concerned about exact nicotine levels. I buy a bottle of 100mg/ml 4 9s fine PG nicotine base (thats 99.99%) It's generally a bit pricier but those last 2 9s are generally made up of carcinogens. the 100mg makes the math simpler, and the total nicotine cost is often lower.

I then mix it 3 to one with vg. Every time you double the volume you halve the concentration, so the first third maks it 50mg/ml, and the second 2 thirds halve it again, so I get a ~25mg/ml base. this is then gut with a variable amount of flavor, giving me something in the 20-25mg range. with a mostly vg base. Close enough for me.

So since I'm using 18 and 26 mg commercial liquids, and this is just for me, I should be fine by mixing a batch of unflavored at 24 (for assorted reasons my first nic is 48) and be in the ballpark? I wasn't able to get any consensus on starting percentages for flavor, so it would be a lot easier to make the base up ahead and then experiment with how much flavor to use by starting low and working up.

I recently had words with the creator of Breakthru "E-juice me up". He feels the error in his program is minor and correction wouldn't benefit in any way.
HAIL Yes!! I have the program you could find helpful! An excel program. I have and like you have stated needing something to mix a small amount while withholding say 20% (which could be set for a varied amount) for latter flavor addition. I made it based on all flavors being PG based, yet could be adjusted.
Program is currently only set for PG Based flavors. If a flavor amount of say, "15%" is needed the amount of remaining PG that has been previously withheld is adjusted and is displayed to get the desired amount or PG/VG. (Has gram scale table also.)
Withholding of any amount of a PG or VG affects the Nicotine (mg.) and the ratios (the program has the listed correction of PG/VG and Nicotine for such actions). I'm currently on the gravy-train shift work; be in a day or to post it to ya'.

It's either the way you typed this or you may want to rethink your math... sorry if I misunderstood it.

You are correct in that every time you double your volume you reduce the nicotine amount in half... ie 50ml 100mg nic in a PG base with 50ml VG added = 100ml of 50mg nic in a 50:50 PG/VG base.

The part that doesn't make sense is your statement of mixing it 3:1 with VG. Your mixing in thirds will never mathematically get you to the halves you reference.
