i was lucky to get the software working as it is - it was mostly designed for windows 7 and i'm still running xp pro! i shall leave well enough alone - i'm in the woods on 20 acres, pretty unlikely frannie will show up and try and steal my bandwidth

I assumed you have or will have a 2nd device to use the hotspot.

My GF has WiFi. I have the capability, but I have it turned off. I hardwire everything and never have an issue. But I don't "float around" with devices and need wireless access.

Good for you Tibby. Now you can brush Geoff and keep up with us or stream him some music or something....

She even purchased a WiFi repeater to extend the signal to the back yard. I've offered to hook it up a couple of times....she "never has time". It's not high on her priority list I guess.

no second device atm, atty - remember my other lap top went south and i have no idea how far the connectify hot spot reaches, lol.
my main purpose - i'm stuck at my kitchen table; it's the only place i get a decent signal for my air card. with winter approaching my couches in the family room look more and more enticing ........... sigh
