Used to log Atty. It's not a whole lot of fun.

Quite a few of the family on my mother's side used to 'cut paper wood' (logging for the paper industry). Don't think anyone does it anymore. Grandfather had been hurt by a falling tree, he was bed-ridden for the last ~15 years of his life.

Grew up with coal/wood furnaces to heat the house. Tends to make winter mornings a bit chilly :D.

for heat we got the heat pumps - fire places are strictly for ambiance

 You have heat pumps? Which tells me you also have electricity. Surrrrrrrrrre...you rich people with your furnaces, heat pumps, AC and electric lights. Franny and I, on the other hand, have to heat with wood, light lanterns and pump water out of the ground!

I hurt just thinking about it. Wish I was in that kind of shape/health. Kudos again.

P.S.
You're nuts. Get a splitter. :D

 Well...I figure as long as I am capable of splitting by hand...I'll do it. It's good for you but...I sometimes have to pace myself cause I get winded or my chest starts pounding. I use to be able to split wood all day just WHAM WHAM WHAM. But...I'm old so it's more like...wham...miss...wham...wham...take a vape break...wham...play with the barn cat....take a nap...wham...look at the wood...wham...wham wham sorta wham....

Prolly won't be around this evening, so:

Times for our turnings are all Eastern and looked up by an ECF Moderator.
Dates are checked by at least two people but, when dealing with different time zones and the forum software not recognizing leap year, mistakes can happen. ;)

If you don't see yourself listed, or don't see a theme listed for your day and you want one, let us know.
Your presence on the PreVet thread is required if you requested an Avatar Party. Please, join us in advance of your turning time and enjoy the celebration.
