Mokation was a supplier? But he was a ProVari fanboy and didn't he do coops for just a few items? I had no idea he was supplying anything darn it, he lives fairly close I could have used a somewhat local supplier. We spoke but he never tried to sell me a thing darn it. I feel cheated!

And that "hidey hole" thing sounds very suspicious indeed.....

I 'think' he might have mentioned something about selling some of the co-op items, then BANG, he was gone . If that is what happened, I'm not sure how much of a 'supplier' that would make him.

I don't imagine that the regular vendors on here like co-ops much. After all, a co-op is a group of people buying stuff like a vendor would and then dividing it up for cost. They don't have to maintain websites, deal with returns, etc. Then if a co-op member mentions SELLING stuff....

So...I guess it's not that surprising to me. I haven't joined a co-op for that reason. I have no problem supporting a vendor as along as their prices are reasonable. Not that I have anything against co-ops. But ..... I guess I'm lazy. I'll just purchase from a vendor. Or get parts off Digikey or something if I want to go around the vendor prices.

I know there are cases where a vendor is not "up to speed" and you can't find something you want at a vendor site or it's marked up way too much.

I am a co-op lover! Why should I pay a vendor $120 for something I am buying in a coop for $51 shipped to my door? I agree with you, SOME of the vendors are reasonable, but really how much can it possibly cost to maintain a website? They are already marking up the juice from the 10 cents per ml to in some cases $1. Mine costs me $0.07 with the flavoring I like. I only buy the juices I can't make, which of course are the more expensive vendors. But DIY means I can cost average and enjoy every drop.

Don't get me wrong, I love the vendors and do buy from them. But again, as you stated, some things are new they don't have, or they are new and way overcharge. Take the chinese DID for example, I paid $22 for 2 of them delivered. One vendor was charging $29.99 each! Another, $19.99 which is in line with reasonable. That was before shipping though. I am still new, so need LOTS of stuff and after wasting literally $100's of dollars on junk (Blu, 510's, plus the eGo tank system garbage) from those wonderful vendors who sold me outdated stuff, I need to make up the money to buy stuff I can actually use and enjoy. I don't resell anything, though I do PIF to a few friends and if I get "moved on" for admitting that I give stuff to my friends something is wrong here.

Now, what is Digikey? hmmm....

but he also mentioned he bought 50 aga-ts outside the co-op and he expected to have them way ahead of the other shops ............ co-ops are also to be 'non-profit' - compare the cost of same items from bucky and mok. i believe j0ker is keeping a closer look at the costs passed on in co-ops.

just remember - unless you intend to return it to china there's no warranty involved. and if you return it you're usually told it'll be made good in the next order where there is a moq again ;)

I'm not anti-co-op. Nor anti-vendor (But I do make my own e-juice).

I just mean, that if ECF has policies against co-op's selling stuff and competing with vendors... I understand that. After all, they had to go through a whole approval process just to get listed as a vendor. They also have to pay their employees. So...meh.

Nothing wrong with either.

I was just commenting on the "co-op->sale of stuff...then BANG" comment. :)
Since I don't "do co-ops" I probably should have stayed out of it. Slow ECF day.........

I don't think you get "moved on" for PIF.

As to your last question...google is your friend.

I buy lots of part and kits from vendors (like MadVapes) to support them. Also because they went the extra mile and pre-fabed boards. Before e-cigs I purchased electronics from digikey and mouser for my electronics hobby.

Some vendors sell mods where I would seriously consider them given that I know how much time it takes to assemble a mod and how easy it can be to mess up. This is for vv box mods, for example. The evercool is one I'm considering buying pre-built. However, I think I can get better quality if I build it by hand (no hot glue and crap). So it would depend on the vendor and the build.

I bought the ever cool from Madvapes preassembled when they had their sale. I got my vv gripper off the classified.. everything I have I shopped for on sale, with a coupon code or got on classies and coops (except the one JB and some bedazzles which I paid full retail for and the caravela I am on the waiting list for so have time to save up). Even my Provari was blem'd, though I don't see it. Most of that stuff doesn't come with a warranty in any case. I sure couldn't return any of the crap I bought from vendors because I didn't like it! Except the blu, but I had already given it to a friend to try to help her quit (didn't work, now I have to find something else for her and ate the cost of the Blu since it is over the time to return it). So don't get me wrong, I do use the vendors and am grateful they are making enough money to stay in business. In fact, someone was asking me about my gripper and I sent them straight to the vendors. Mine is mine ya know?

If Moka actually planned on buying a bunch of stuff and reselling it than I guess he did make a mistake in not applying for vendor status. I can see why they "moved him on" and how that is unfair to the registered vendors. I wonder if he now has the opportunity to reapply as a vendor then since that seems to be the route he was taking? I am sure he did it without considering what exactly he was getting himself into and never meant to step on toes. Bless his heart.
