Posts 85147 and 85148... what do you see?

The first is the text I had intended. The 2nd... was a duplicate post. I edited it to say "duplicate post". When I'm logged off and just browsing the forum, I see both text posts without the edit. When I log in, I see the 2nd has having the "duplicate post" message. This,combined with the funky stuff going on in quoting posts, leads me to suspect that something is flaky.

They have been complaining about people editing posts. I edit my posts ALL THE TIME. I double read/check all my posts and frequently edit them in the first few minutes. Now this strange behavior. I don't get it. But if I can't edit the post...or IF IT APPEARS DIFFERENTLY TO OTHERS THAN TO ME... this entire board is useless to me.

What the heck? Please advise as to what you see. Thank you. Also check it when logged off.

That makes no sense to me. Maybe database got fubar while they were making hot changes or something. Or the duplicate post issue introduced a bug. But IDK how there can be two versions of a post.

Can you see this? If so, say "I see it!"

Thank you for checking Fran. But you saw two full posts for those others you looked at... logged in or out? Strange. Maybe I should report it in site feedback... Could cause a lot of concern though. But if they don't know about it, they can't fix it either.

Thanks Fran. That's really weird.

I don't know that what I see is what you see...at least for those posts that had the "whatever this is" issue. The others I edited above seem to have stuck and you see the edits. For post 85148... you don't. Shouldn't even be possible, IMO... there should be only one definitive output of a "latest version" of a post. Maybe a database history kind of problem. IDK. Worrisome.
