Precise 10440 - A question on battery fit

I got a Precise 10440 today, SS with Brass ends, I also got in today some AW ICR 10440 batteries, however they are too short and will not make contact. In the meantime I used a small earth magnet on the negative side of the battery to get it to work, but I really don't like this as my permanent fix. Any ideas?

You must have gotten one of the original 10440s. The newer ones (from around Feb 2011 and on) utilize a different button switch that is a tad longer to accommodate for the IMR batteries. All you need is one of the newer button switches and you'll be good to go.

Yeah, its the original precise, I wanted the brass ends. I'll see if Dave has the newer button in brass, or if he will just say the magnet trick is good enough.

My OG P10 was, for lack of a better term, version 2, and it had the slightly longer brass button. Before the P+ version, David used to sell the newer brass buttons for those that wanted to use IMRs. Hopefully, he'll have some extras laying around that you can buy because using a magnet is just not ideal. Better yet, maybe he'll have some rhodium plated buttons for you!
