Now that I am an expecting father of an ELA, I have a few questions regarding spares/accessories if I may.

I, as others in this thread have mentioned, prefer to be well stocked with spares & parts. Accessories can wait (though I would like a slanted top cap as soon as they become available.)

Is there a preferred method to get notification of when items are in stock? Or is it a matter of logging into their site regularly and trying to add items in my cart, haha.

Thanks for the responses :)

That is what I figured, grrr. I am worried now, considering how long it took me to snag a mod, it will take another 6 years to get a damn compression band, haha.

It's hard for me to get online regularly with my job, but I will need to make the effort for a while until I can snag some parts.

Take a nap Cucco, I will wake you when parts come in....(sshhh)

Thanks! I did get good at it! Snatched so many mods and parts, for me and others! But, some things have been beyond my reach. I have wanted OEM springs, and spare contacts(top/bottom) for a year. One of these days...... :)

Ok, so I need to stalk. It is what it is...

What should be on my list? In terms of quantities to get me through a year. How often do compression bands need replacing? Springs? Contacts? Obviously it varies person to person, but I plan to use the ELA as my main workhorse. Just wondering if, when available, I should get 2 of something? 5? 10?

I don't want to go to crazy, as it's not fair to others in need of parts as well. :)

It is unlikely, you will need any parts for a very long time! Not due to wear. It is just nice, to have a spare. :)

I would say that as far as contacts; one of each should suffice, might not ever need them, but nice to have. Springs and compression bands , that all depends on level of wear and tear. I had to replace my compression bands a couple times. Springs I also had to replace because of clumsiness.

Many like the HD springs, stronger and last longer. I did not like the HD springs as I have bad , weak hands and the added resistance when pressing down caused cramps. I think most of the fellas will enjoy the HD springs.

I know that before the ELAs had Rhodium plated contacts which have now been replaced with Palladium which also have a high tolerance to wear and also never need more than a wipe down or in cases of juice leaks, warm water and soap should suffice.
Palladium was used on the Simplicity Ti line and from my own experience do tend to see more surface wear compared to that of the Rhodium. I use my Simplicity a lot less. Again, wear on the contacts, especially the top ones depends a lot on the quality of your atomizers contacts, some are rougher and some people tend to over tighten them down.

Ok, reassuring responses :) Thanks, I won't go cray cray ordering, haha.

Hopefully I can nab a few next batch. Won't be satisfied until I have spares for my spares, juuust in case. Springs do like to go BOING!

Thanks for the details AvidFan. Looks like I would like the HD spring, but I will wait and see. I know what you mean about some atties having sharper contacts than others, think I may have a few lying around. I tighten just enough to not wobble. Still, I will be mindful of any sharper atties. I wasn't aware of the switch to Palladium on all the contacts, but yes still plenty wear resistant, good stuff.
