Thanks for the reply Nach! Looks fantastic. I work with metal refinishing and firearms as a hobby and was curious by which process you managed that. And props for getting that even finish with a butane torch. Steady hand indeed!

All Those who received tracking notices on the 16th and 17th have shipped as of yesterday and today, so you should see it in your box in about 2 days.
Ive been curious about the "clone" for a while, but had not seen nor heard any reviews or opinions. I looked it up on YouTube and was happy to find a review on it and I was happy to hear that it is one of the worst Infinite clones there is. From what I saw and heard on that review was that it was rough, wobbly, and just horrible all around.
This was from an avid clone collector. Im sure it will start to spread that it is NOTHING like the original, other than looks. Even then, the compression band really gives it away, as it is double the thickness. So it really could not be confused in any way for the original.

Really, there aren't many differences. The biggest two are obviously the button and the locking ring. The locking ring, while supposedly better on the v2 is not as aesthetically pleasing to me as the v1 but that's a personal taste issue. I didn't care for the v2 button as much as the v1. I found the v1 more comfortable and the slopping nature of it more natural on my finger. The v2 has the benefit of being able to stand. Both have the benefit of the new concave bottom button. Personally, I'd like to see this as one of the standard options going forward. If anyone is like me, their ELA doesn't leave the house because of weight so I don't need a locking button.
Both are solid mods and I get and applaud Super T's decision to make changes.

V1 has a much better finish (polished version),a better lock ring design and the unique looking switch which is great to use (V2 is uncomfortable to press when your finger is not exactly in the good orientation).
Also I got unlucky with QA on mine: I get battery rattle on a 18350 even when pushing at max, the lock mechanism is so tight that I need to fight it every time I need to remove the telescopic tube.

I have been using the flat bottom switch for the V1 now for a few days. I have to say out of the three switch assemblies, I like this new version the best. The button is very smooth and really easy to use. No misfires while carrying around in my pocket. I take the ELA every where I go because I know this device is very reliable. I still like the other switch assemblies and will still use them, but this new switch is perfect for me. When my ELA V2 arrives I will use the flat bottom switch V2 for it also.
Petition to bring back the diamond cut locking ring......

The tube lock ring/mechanism is tighter to begin with but it is a much better design then before, bigger, holds better, doesn't deform and conducts better. The tolerances are tighter on it, but if you give it time, trust me it will break in and slide with relative ease.
As far as the battery rattle: First, double check that the oring is in the bottom of the battery tube, it is necessary, some remove it, but this is a shorting hazard without it. If you have an adjustable center pin in your rba/rda, extend it out further, then back of the ELA center post so that you can tighten the atomizer all the way down tight against the ELA cap, then adjust the center post back up to contact the atomizer.
As far as the finish, it's kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't. Some always wanted a shinier finish, some like the more brushed look. I can tell you this though regarding the finish, we have a lifetime refinish warranty, so if you don't like the shinier, eventually your unit is going to need a freshen up, so send it in and we'll finish it to what you like
It's a win-win.As far as the button, again, its another damned if you do, damned if you don't. One big complaint of the old style was it wouldn't standup. Moving the horn flush allowed us to accomplish standing up. To ease the button use, I recommend a regular strength spring (some where shipped with HD) and adjusting the throw as short as possible. This will greatly improve your button feel. The larger button lock though does make it easier to lock too.
I will say, I'm not a big fan of the knurling either, I think I like the older style too. But a little change up is good here and there. I can make some of the old style too again.
I figured with time the new locking ring would ease up... + 1 How can I get the ELA V2 I have on order to come with the old style diamond cut knurling locking ring, Is it possible.... ?
