Regarding these flat bottom switches, do you guys/gals use your pinky or ring finger on them? Or do they require the ole over the top & tuck middle finger grip, haha, if that makes. I guess it depends on each persons hands/fingers & flexibily...

Im a long time pinky pusher, hadn't planned on getting any alternate switch...but many of you seem to prefer them. If they are easy on the pinky I may be open to it, but I really like the standard button :)

The flat bottom is as easy on the pinky as the other. I use my first pinky knuckle no sweat, the throw is short and you don't even notice the surrounding ring. It's a seriously good switch.

Edit: I'm referring to the replacement flat bottom, not the switch that utilizes the stock button. I don't know how that one fares.

Thanks again snork, Super-T guru, haha.

Snork is the World's Leading Authority on SuperT ecig products...........

Is there any difference between the replacement flat switch assembly & the stock button switch?

As slick as the locking mechanism is you cannot beat the flat switch for comfort of use... Its nice to have both switches though, one locks just incase you need that option...

I have always loved the look of the ELA V1's locking ring diamond knurling... But the new ELA V2 has really started to grow on me, its knurling has more of an elegant look... very clean lines.

Now for the big question: I wonder if SuperT would ever consider building a new locking ring for the ELA V1 that's matches the specs of the V2 ring? That would be a real upgrade for ELA V1 owners.....

What are you nuts Riverbaot ? Don't listen to me David the ELA V1 is a classic on its own and needs to stay that way... You all want the new and improved version, then you need to buy one... .... Harder Hitting/Improved Locking Ring/Bigger Button more befitting the ELA's girth... And for some reason I am getting much longer run times when using my Kick2.... ELA V2 is better then I ever expected.....

I kind of regret not getting a V1. When David showed the ELA prototype to me, my initial impressions were that it was more mod than I personally needed or wanted. Plus, it was a bit too heavy for me, and I have small hands even for a female. Since then, I've enjoyed using David's Shockwave, no lightweight itself, so I'm considering whether I want to look for an ELAv1. I still prefer a bottom button, and I do use standard 510 atomizers, so the adjustable draw cap would be nice to have.

:)

Did you see my recent sale? This ELA V1 was in pristine "Like New" condition...
I did keep both original ELA V1 510 top caps and replaced it with a new flower 510 cap so I sold it well below MSRP.... I like yourself still love 510 atomizers and you really don't need the adjustable 510 cap .. The other works just fine... So don't even consider buying a V1 when the V2 is now available... The V2 improvements have brought the ELA to a new level of performance.... And to think I almost didn't buy one, I thought I own a VI with all the extras so why would I need a V2? It cant be that much better, can it? Well it is.... its all about the new locking ring..:vapor:

I'm officially back in the ELA club! New V2 ordered tonight! Are the currents runs shipping out faster than the V1?

All orders through July 29th have shipped and we are working on orders from July 30th to present, including yours, so your order should ship before the end of the week. The current wait time on new ELA orders will be down to 2-3 business days by the end of the week as we are just about completely caught up.

Well, you haven't steered me in the wrong direction yet. If you don't think the adjustable draw cap is necessary, I might as well look into the latest version of the ELA. New level of performance. I like the sound of that! Maybe David will let me try before I buy.:D
Thanks for your advice and comments.

No no no no. The v2 Locking Ring is nothing compared to the v1. It feels and looks cheaper.

I suspect you have a polished V2 compression ring from the early units that went out and I agree they look cheaper (they aren't, it's just the finish on them) but V2 compression rings are not all the same finish/look. Lately, we stopped polishing them and they look better IMO. All V2 ring construction, regardless of finish though, is beefier then the V1 as it's about ten thousandths thicker then V1, plus has the increased compression band size for better holding power and conductivity.

Let's get to the bottom of this.

V1 lock ring/compression band = 6g

V2 lock ring/compression band = 8g

V1 body = 44g

V2 body = 36g

Interior of anterior of bodies 2 & 1 (sorry, I rotated the picture wrong so on left is 2)

Materially, the main weight difference in the two body tubes comes obviously from the fact that the hole where the button travels is bored out much bigger to accommodate the larger button of version 2. It also seems version 2's body walls may be (by eyeball) very slightly thinner than version 1's. I'm not able to measure them.

Bottom line for me without all of this obsessiveness is that version 2 is better. It performs better, the lock is more positive and sturdier. The knurling, yeah. It takes some getting used to. Few things if anything else on earth have single knurledness.
