Heck, Im always game to try, before I got the Ody I test drove a Zen, DID, and Storm RIder 2.0. They were built to my usual liking and though they performed well, the taste changed my favorite juices. The storm rider was one I did purchase and the bugger was super hot and giant vapour but I just couldnt handle the building. First build on it was done for me, but too hot, rebuilt it at a higher resistance and messed up and finally got and was too much work with my hands.

I sold the Storm Rider and my buddy LOVED IT, said it was one of his top favorites.

SO far of they atomizers Ive used Ody has been perfect for me.

I found I hated the taste of "tobacco" flavors on Genesis. They seemed best with fruity flavors, and menthols. Since my favorite all-day vape is a "tobacco" flavor, I find I prefer normal atomizers or silica rebuildables.

Do you have an ithaka? How does it compare with the ody

Ithaka beats Ody by a mile. It has double the amount of wick feeding the coil, and keeping the basic feeding open ensures that the wick never gets dry. Ody is still a great RBa, but it doesn't come close to the Ithaka in performance. To be honest, even the Penny outperforms the Ody. They have the same overall design concept, but I think the Penny's reduced chamber makes it produce better flavor. Since getting my Ithakas, I've gotten rid of all my Odys but held on to all my Pennies.

Cool, hurray for another ODy/Term user with ELA. I like mild TH and warm to coolish vape, so I set my resistance on 3 mm wicks at 2.5 ish when KICKed and about 1.8 non kicked. I like the higher resistance with a KICk because I can get more wraps. I use 32 kanthal with 34 nickel wire for the non-resistance, easier to wrap and the joined area is a bit slimmer.

Ive tried 34 and 33 kanthal but since its higher resistance, I cant get the amount of wraps I like, but is preference. Some say with thinner wire it heats up faster. FOr sub-ohms, people like even lower res/ thick coils , less chance of wire movement or popping/ breakage.
Ody can be set up for low resistance or dual coils for higher performance / heat.

Term has more narrow channels for wicks so many use 2mm, but sometimes with thin liquids you might get some leakage/ over wicking so many get 3mm and remove a couple strands. WIth thick juice 2mm should be fine. There is or was a guy selling 2 ODys for a really great price/ retail about 120? He closed the thread for lots of GG stuff and said he was going to relist just the ODys. GOod seller , takes care of his things.

Its similar to the Kayfuns in size and shape, but a bit shorter and you do need both non-resistance and resistance wire. Cant tell you if the vape is the same, as far as if one at the same resistance is warmer or cooler. Both are SHerman tanks and look great. Ody only comes in one finish, mirror shine , so it doesnt match ELA , but there is a great guy that re-finishes and Im sending a couple of my Odys to be done in the SUper-t Satin and polish finish so they match.

Plus Ody/Term parts and Ithaka parts are interchangeable so you can get the tank and mouthpieces to update and now with the mouthpiece for using your own drip tips you can individualize your atomizer.

If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me:)

Funny how picky we tobacco users are, especially when it comes to NET tobaccos. Most people prefer silica with tobacco juices. But there are a few that like the stronger, throaty tobaccos and love the "smoky" experience with LR genesis set ups.

Its too bad I had no patience for the Ithaka haha! Looks really nice, just too many parts for my liking.

Funny how we get used to our setup and dont even notice things like all the parts. I keep watching the Kayfun videos and thought the same: look at all those parts...

most of the Ody parts you dont ever have to take apart except for occasional " deep cleaning"

I thought the same thing before I got my first Penelope, that there were an intimidating number of parts. Now, however, I can rewick one like Forrest Gump rebuilds a rifle. Turns out there are only 6 separate components you have to worry about on a regular basis -- the bottom, the ceramic assembly, the knurled ground wire retainer ring, mouthpiece, the tank, and the tank's lid. The ceramic assembly can be broken down further, but the need for that is pretty rare.

On the other hand, the Kayfun is kind of a PITA, requiring screwdrivers and breaking down into 8 or 9 parts just to rinse and re-wick. One of those parts is the very unique, irreplaceable 510 connector center screw (a miniature collar bolt), which makes me very nervous indeed. Every time I re-wick my Kayfun I'm scared I'm going to drop that screw down the sink drain.

Some may say that the collector tank doesn't have to be disassembled to re-wick, though. It seems too easy to get water down the air hole when rinsing, and too difficult to drain if the collector tank is left assembled.

Be that as it may, I've been sticking with the Kayfun as my primary atty. You know how with the GG-ish atties and clones pressure changes in the tank force you to have to close and re-open the juice flow control to equalize the pressure and compensate for the occasional dry hits or flooding? That hasn't happened to me with the Kayfun. It feeds exceptionally consistently from full to empty.

It's just too bad it's so damned complicated.

David, the RBA world desperately needs your contribution, please.

i un-liked and hit like AGAIN for that last one.

i'm actually going to spend this weekend working on solid modeling a genny style rba. just to mess around. i have some ideas on how to do an adjustable air control and i want to see if i can solve the leaking while laying down issue.

So the HH357 0.8 ohm coils rocks! I have some 18mg juice on the way...30mg makes me dizzy with the 0.8 coil...I can see once you get use to its warm vapor nothing else will satisfy.....
If you had to choose me one RBA/RDA to buy, what do you recommened Nach? Remember Im a dripper...
