My locking mechanism was a bit stiff when new, but has loosened up to where its much easier to lock and unlock. Im going to try polishing up with a Cape Cod and see if it gets buttery smooth.

In fact the other day I broke down my ELA and noticed how dirty it was after a week since its last cleaning. THe locking ring especially, so full of black gunk. I did wash it and then wiped it down with a q-tip and alcohol . Even after soap and water the q-tip came out black.

Im a bit hesitant to take the locking ring apart. The little inner ring is thin and I dont want it to get out of shape. Its a bit tricky getting the inner ring to slide off with out bending it with my stupid hands. Its easy to slip it back in.

The inner tube also gets quite dirty. No problem, I love taking it apart and cleaning it, much easier than my handguns.

What is all the black gunk? Why so dirty? Just curious. My vapes don't get very dirty.

You clean your handguns? Just joking. I was looking at my daily carry the other day, and was thinking 'I really should clean that'. I didn't yet. Oh well! :)

I love Evolv, and I love my darwin. Just because the device doesn't go under 3.2 volts doesn't discredit the device, it actually encourages you to save your battery life, if you think about it. Just a matter of perspective.

Amps are what eat up battery power. Some do not realize that it isn't the voltage. If you were to use a 2.0 ohm to 3.0 ohm coil, you will actually notice a better battery life compared to anything under 2.0 ohm at the same wattage.

Evolv products are a beast, with the kick being my least favorite. Still even the kick adjust as your atty adjust. Most do not realize that while you are vaping your atty or carto will adjust mid vape, sometimes depending on the age or even how much liquid is being used, your carto or atty will adjust .1 or .2 ohm sometimes even more. Any product by evolv will adjust mid vape while your atomizer or cartomizer adjust. I don't believe that technology like that can be found elsewhere. Most claim to give you the wattage as you adjust at the start of the vape, I could be wrong but none adjust mid vape, except for evolv's products.

If that is garage work. Please tell me where that garage is, I choose that garage ANY day! ;)

I'm just sayin', if the claim is 15W and 6A and it doesn't do it ...

Dang you and your cool "toys" I have fallen in love with a flashlight. Here I was happy all this time with my giant Maglite billie club.

Reminds me of Crocodile Dundees famous quote : Now, THIS is a flashlight..... I might get myself the matte black one for myself for christmas

Wayne does some very cool stuff, all of his lights are high quality, overbuilt and very robust - you won't be disappointed I assure you.
Yes, I know the Dundee quote, gives the phrase "mine is bigger than yours" a whole new slant. The matte black EDC is very popular and a great light. I'd be glad to help you spend your money, stay tuned for more "toys" lol.

Same here, before ELA, I had many a Precise + in my cart along with drip tips, batteries, KICKS. ELA finally made me press the " complete purchase" on their PVs.

They were always prompt and courteous with my questions. And before launching the ELA and Shockwave always replied within 24 hours or less. I give them a lot of lee way with responses these days, as I know they are working hard to get our ELAs out. Great company, years of outstanding customer service and superior products.

And NO, Im not "brown nosing" I never believe in that. Maybe thats why I never really "made it" in the work force. Im never rude though and try to give honest opinions. When pushed to giving an opinion that I know someone might not like, I take a good look at their eyes and ask "do you really want me to tell you? you might not like it" Most people appreciate it and others? Well.......... they asked for it.

Hey Snorkie, ( i hope that doesnt offend ) On that photo of your button, I think that is the satin? Is the button 2 tone like on the polished ELA? Its hard to tell , looks like it is. I love the 2 tone on the polished and hope its the same on the satin one coming my way.

BTW, Im gong to make a confession. Part of the reason I got the second ELA in satin, is mostly because I love mixing part up. I really thought that once David offers parts Id get the tubes and the top cap assembly and other satin bits, and thought, aw heck after I spent the money on those bit Id almost be spending what it would cost to buy a whole unit. SO it was partly "greed" and partly cost efficiency. :)

But in the end still your backup, so this is nothing to fret about lol.

I don't care if you call me snorkie, makes me feel like I have the girlfriend I so desperately need.

Yes, the slider is "polished" in the Super-T way and the button itself is satin.

LOL, Im not fretting. You know that feeling that you sometimes get when making a purchase thats over 40.00? You start to feel that remorse over whether or not you made a good decision? Most of the time its short lived, especially once the item is in your hand, sometimes not.

I get that a lot when its over a 100.00. But with the ELA I never had it. Firstly because the money I spent was my birthday/ christmas money from family and mostly because of all the people that had a Precise product , Ive only heard 2 that were not thrilled, because of the button and the not standing thing. I just had that "feeling" that ELA was going to be that perfect item I had been wanting. Only thing that would have made it even more perfect was if it came in black.

The last items I felt guilty buying was my HOT TOys "War Machine" and their "Sweeney Todd" figures. Talk about guilty pleasures. At 150.00 + each for a 12" action figure? But they are so beautiful.

I thought the same thing, why so much gunk inside the locking ring. I guess our little beauty is not completely "flawless" guess it bring her down to earth:)

We can't jump to that conclusion just yet, need to determine root cause for the gunk. Please describe to us your handling of the ELA last week, no omissions. Remember, you have a propensity to cannibalize, mutilate or otherwise morph these products into something else. You are already on record (this week) suggesting an Ithaka clone dismemberment and GG atty disembowelment followed by stuffing with Kayfun innards, need I say more?

Ok, good - certainly no reason to fret. I have a little higher limit for that feeling you describe, maybe you should handle my financials lol.

LOL, I do tend to switch between the reg sliding tube and the extended kick, so Im thinking with the heat these days, plus typical use heat, that the o-ring has something to do with it.

Or maybe when I was casting spells and fighting off dirty bloody Zombies and "black oil filled" Human/ Alien Hybrids might have done it
