Not running a kick but the vapor is still nice at 1.7. I usually run around 1.5 but this build was a little higher and I was too anxious to try my ELA to rebuild it. I'm fairly used to vaping at 11-12 watts so this does fair considering I change out my batteries every 10 hours or so. Still, I plan on rebuilding after this tank since its not quite as warm as what I'm used to. Once I get some 28g kanthal, I'll probably experiment with going lower... probably somewhere around 1.2.

1.2 ohms is a good vape for me.. i just swapper out the old cotton, and added fresh cotton to change flavors. i didnt touch the micro coil, just fired it twice.. im liking this setup.. only missing my ela , glad u have urs

My first two builds with my ELA/Kayfun Lite, were done by my local vape shop. The vape took several pulls to get decent vape when cold, and the draw was airy. I posted here yesterday for ideas from you guys. As usual, you guys chimed in to help a fellow vaper. Today, I was going to try your ideas, but for some reason I was locked out of this forum. So I attempted a figure 8 build like the vape shop did. Because I was not well today, I was shaky as heck. It was the sloppiest build you ever saw. Funny thing .. the vape is great. She heats up right away. The draw is not too airy. Maybe, the sloppy build resulted in more wick shoved down in there? Resulting in less air? I don't really know. But, I'm happily vaping away!

Was anyone else having issues with this forum today?

I am really looking forward to trying your microcoiling build. I know there are a ton of vids out there, but is there a particular vid you would suggest?

Thanks guys!!!!

Want an easier way than the figure 8 that ends up looking just like a figure 8?

Make a 3 fold to where it looks like an 'S" then wrap the coil in the center of the 'S"

After attached, pull the legs (ends of the 'S') to get the loops the proper size..

Exact same result as a figure 8 but 5,000 times easier to wrap..

She was vaping great. Then I added some more juice. I did not overfill her. Now, she's spitting juice at me. And, she's leaking from the air hole. Acts like when I used to fload a dripper. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

okay i think i might have over spent just a tad this month :)... i couldnt wait for my ELA any longer so i bought the Simplicity 18500 because i want a high end mod to hold me over.. im glad i have it as its a testament of SuperT's quality.. but im the type of guy that doesnt have too much excess.. i own 2 pairs of shoes. one for work and one for the weekends.. lol... most of my atties are 22 and 23mm diameter, so i might end up giving someone on the classies of owning this simplicity.. it hasnt left the house so someone will be super happy.. im looking at it up and down as i type, its sitting so purty in her mod holder, so elegant. for some reason im scared to leave the house with her..

i totally feel like the ELA wont give me that feeling.. i picture myself taking it with me to the desert, camping, while im out welding, or to the movies.. i see it as more rugged, built like a tank.. so yeah... now that my number is soo close im preparing for its arrival..

How did you fill it?

If you filled by removing the top cap then that's why it's flooding and leaking out of the air hole.

From what I know, the Simplicity's finish is sort of ribbed? If its like the inner tube of the ELA, it should be pretty rugged and actually more rugged than the polished ELA.

Not to say that the polished finish is delicate but certainly more prone to light scuffs than the inner tube. The inner tube of ELA is very very rugged. I was thinking that would make for a very good PV for outings or for those that are rougher on their devices.

I was just hoping with the Simplicity being lighter that it would make for a great out and about device. It is a delicate "looking" beauty and a beast from what I hear.

There seems to be many reasons why it floods out the air hole.
Like I told Cucco, even if it's user error, a leaky atomizer is unacceptable to me. Leaking under any circumstances is stupid.

A button getting so hot you can't touch it on any negative ground button mod indicates a short. Most likely in the atomizer but also possibly in the battery. First, back the center post way off so its not touching the atomizer center pin, reinstall new atomizer down tight , gently tighten the center post up until it makes contact with the atomizer. The next thing would be check your coil if its an rba to make sure it isn't shorting. Next check the bottom of the battery tube to make sure the preinstalled oring is still in place down in the bottom of the tube. Next check to make sure your battery doesn't have any rips or tears in its wrapping that cause a short. Theres really nothing in the mod itself that can go wrong to cause a short but there is a slim chance some metal debris could be bridging the gap between the center post and the outer cap, remove center post and top cap, wash with warm water and dishsoap, blow dry. Battery rattling sounds to me like the oring isn't in the bottom of the tube or its out of place, recheck.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, pal. I love the craftsmanship on your device and i'm just hoping any trouble shooting going on here might help anyone having issues in the future.

That being said, I have done some investigating. The first thing I did was install a new attie on top. I was still getting sporadic hot buttons. Then I took the mod apart and washed everything in warm water with dish soap and used a blowdryer to dry everything thoroughly. It seems that wasnt a fix either.

That is when I started to notice, that perhaps the button is acting strange and contributing to my issues. Usually, on a mech mod with a properly designed button, the circuit is either open or closed depending on if the button is depressed. On some mechanicals it is possible to get a weak/inefficient hit when you dont depress the button down far enough, resulting in a hot button due to a poor or incomplete contact.

My experiment consisted of a fresh, unjuiced rebuildable dripping atomizer sitting on top of my ELA with a fresh battery installed. I took the cap off of the RBA so I could see the coils clearly, and since the wicks were dry, I could see coils glow very easily. Having built/dry burned many dripper coils in the past, I know roughly how bright these coils should be glowing based off of their total resistance (which was .45ohms).

I began by fully depressing the button, and got what looked to be a completely normal glow from my coils. I repeated this step a few times for consistencies sake and everything seemed fine. The next step was to very slowly depress the button, watching for any sign of glowing from the coils. I noticed that before the button is fully depressed (pushed in as far as it can go in the button assembly) my coils were glowing very dull/weak and....the button was heating up! I repeated this step again many times to make sure and it seemed that something with my button was preventing it from either making full contact, or none at all. Somewhere in between a pressed and unpressed button there was something going on that trickled current through in a weird way, resulting in a weak hit and a hot button.

This experiment was done after I had washed everything, and please keep in mind the tone of this post is not meant to be defamatory in any way towards the ELA or Super T. I've waited a long time for this thing and truly wish to get to the bottom of what the issue may be
