I just take mine apart, soak in hottest tap water and soap. Make sure you have the sink plugged up or use a small strainer so little bits dont go down the drain. I then use a small soft tooth brush and or little tiny micro brushes to scrub the threads and inside. Take out , rinse, dry. If you have a blower go for it. THen I use high proof alchohol to swab and clean the threads, buttons etc. Very important areas are button and locking ring.
If you dont want to take the locking ring compression band off, use a q-tip to clean under and around the threads. Youd be surprised even after the bubble bath and scrubbing how much black muck comes off the locking ring and buttons.
Oh , and dont forget the Vixens
