I like the long extension bare like that, especially with the polished ELA. I think it gives it an interesting surrealistic look.
So, again, my polished was acting up. This time I decided to check out the bottom contact, mustered up the guts to take it apart and was expecting the usual need to get all my strength up and it came loose very easy, so I thought maybe it was loose? I gave it a quick turn to tighten it up and now its firing very good, just a light tap and it fires well and with the usual power and not hot button. I also changed out my wick and coil and made sure the contact pin was shorter, just so there was barely some of it protruding from the 510 connection.
Crossing my fingers so far it performing well. When I get a hot button I notice my performance cuts down to barely any vapor and tube and button gets warm/ hot and my battery runs down really really fast. I mean within 30 mins? For now its performing like day one.
Yeah, grumble... I dunno how David missed that, since he had to ship it back to me assembled. I can tighten it down on its own, without the tube... but it's too tight for the tube and won't go down all the way with it on. Does anyone have any tips for locking ring adjustment?
EDIT: I've got a big O-ring under my battery for now, which keeps the battery snug. I'll just deal with the gap until I can figure out how to loosen the locking band.
I think you might just need another o-ring on the bottom of the tube and you'll be set!
Yours is rough to diagnose. Obviously there must be some sort of defect but these things are so simple and straight ahead that I can't figure out what it could be.Hey Nach, with David being gone and hopefully enjoying some free time, if you read my posts what would you diagnose? I know youve had your ELA/s as long as mine, I think yours came in at the same time? Could it be I have a defective bottom contact? It was leaving marks on my batteries and I did have a part that stuck out. I know they sanded it down, but it still had ridges on the edges. It is rougher screwing it in where as the brass one screws in smooth as butter.
I love these things as everyone knows. Most if they had a trouble some unit would have given up on it months ago. If it were just not performing well consistantly I might have said to heck with it, but since its intermittent, leads me to think its something I am doing or a defect on my unit.
Believe me, Im not trying to cause problems, I see many have problem free months almost a year of perfect use. I dont want to fiddle , I dont want to waste time cleaning. I want to just vape.I know my problem is just an isolated incident. ANy thoughts?
One O-ring is enough to keep the battery snug, but I've still got a 1/2mm gap from the locking-ring not going down all the way. The ring is just too tight...

Do you think you've isolated it to the rhodium bottom post?
Thanks my friend, I hope everyone sees my plight, not as in problems with ELA, but my hesitance to post for help in figuring out a solution NOT bashing........or making waves.

DItto....... ITs frustrating when they are supposed to be the same, one works perfect and the other gets temperamental, like a 60's Jaguar. You would not get rid of or give up on a beautiful Jaguar would you?![]()
That's why most people who own jaguars usually own two. While one is being used, the other one is in the shop being repaired.
I never own, just one, of anything I really like.![]()
