Premix PG/VG/Nic dilution

Going to jump into DIY, ordered some Capella, TFA and LO flavorings to try out. I want to go with premix to start due to ease, safety and the fact that it is just easier to travel with then I end up at different locations due to work.

My question is this, if I order premix 50/50/3mg from nude nicotine and use the flavorings mentioned above, is it going to dilute the nic? I am not concerned if it changes to 51/49 VG/PG but is the nic going to dilute any or is that only and issue if I am mixing my PG/VG/Nic on my own? I will be making 30ml bottles for travel and ease.

PG in Flavoring is additive to the total amount of dilution of the base so if you add 10% flavor you dilute the base by 10%. So 3ml base + 10% flavoring will = a total final NIC of 2.7mg.

Thank you, I just wanted to make sure my math was correct before ordering. Just ordered 500ml from Nude Nicotine to try my hand at it before I put in a big order and start mixing my own from scratch.

You can figure out what your ratios should be for the base if you think of it like making 100 ml of final product. For example, I know that the maximum flavor % that I use is 18%. In my 100 ml example, that would be 18 ml of PG based flavor. I mix 50/50, and my nic is PG based, so right off I know that 50 ml is going to be VG. My 100 mg nic is diluted beforehand to 30 mg, and I want a final 3mg, so I need 10% or 10 ml of 30mg nic. The other 22 ml is going to be PG.

Since this is for a base of 82 ml, not 100, I figure the percentages based on those numbers. 50/82=60.97% is VG, 22/82=26.83% is straight PG, and 10/82=12.20% is 30mg nic, which in my base is at 3.65 mg/ml. I set up a nic ingredient in my calculator that is 60.97% VG, 39.03% PG and 3.65 mg/ml. I make as much as 400 ml of base at a time, using those percentages.

When I use the base in a recipe, my flavors plus straight PG need to add up to 18%. Voila! 50/50 3 mg juice. Of course I can't use that base in a recipe that has more than 18% flavor or a different VG/PG ratio, but since I have started pre-mixing my base, that has not been a problem. I generally knock down the percentages of recipes I have found that are over 18%, most of the time I am around 12-14%. I am not a cloud chaser or a super-sub-ohm vaper, but even on a .5 ohm clapton or the TI builds in my STM, more than 18% is too much for me.

Going to mix some small batches and see what works and what doesn't. I will adjust from there as far as PG/VG and flavoring percentages.
