I just got my subtank mini today. I washed it right after I opened it rubbed each piece in hot water and dishsoap then soaked in a bowl with hot water and dish soap then rinsed and soaked in hot water couple hours. So hopefully its clean lol. Atm its drying been 3-4 hours. Seams dry already but I wanna make sure theres no water left in airflow base. So this is my first sub tank. I only use rda drippers. I heard you need to prime them it says on packaging to put a few drops in coil head and then let it sit with tank full for few min.. ill probably give it half hour atleast. Also heard to start at low power. Its .5 coils i have. So should i start at like 15 20 watts.. and slowly go up. But at what pace.. should I up it say 5 watts every few min or wait much longer. Just wondering how you guys that have sub ohm tanks do it to prolong coil life.

Sounds like you have Done a Very Complete Cleaning.

Priming a New OCC Head is a Must. And Priming with a 30 Minute wait time on a New OCC Head is about as good as it Gets. (I usually just put Drops on the Side Holes until the Drops Don't look like they are Absorbing Anymore.)

As what Wattage to Start? I dunno what you Normally Like to vape at?

But I would Start at 12 Watts and go up about .5 Watts at a Time.

I wanna take these suckers to their max lol. The new vertial occ say they can handle up to 40 watts with 80-100 vg which ill be putting muffin man in the tank its 80/20 vg/pg. So stary at 12-15 watts eh..up it .5 at a time. How fast should i increase wattage.. like .5 every few toots or after a hour. Two hours..?

I would take a Hit or Two, and if it Tastes weak, Bump it Up.

Maybe if you Want to Find the Top End, and want to Push them to the Limit, Start at 15W and go 2W at a Time.

Also while cleaning my subtank mini, the red o ring in airflow base fell out and also the tiny clear o ring that goes where the coil screws in. That fell out to. I got them both back in.. just wondering if there supposed to come out and if that can cause any issues. Especially the tiny clear o ring thats in threads where coil threads in.

Yeah... You have to keep your eye on those O-Rings when you do a Cleaning.

I like to do a Quick Flush of the Air Flow Base (AFB) about every 6 or 7 Tanks. I didn't notice that the O-Ring on the AFB came Off and was Swept Down the sink Drain.

So I started to get Seepage at the joint of the Tank and the AFB. And No Matter how tight I tried to screw down the Tank, I couldn't stop it.

LOL

There are several ways to prime the OCC HEAD. Take the one you like.

1. Take the ejuice you are using and put some directly through the hole in the too of the head and a bit on either side.

2. If you aren't sure what flavor you will vape the head on prime the head with plain Vegetable Glycerin

3. Take dry puffs without firing the mod. Creating a vacuum will help speed up the saturation.

4. Put the ejuice in the tank ang give it 1/2 an hour before firing.

I think the OCC HEADS are only rated to 30-35 watts.

I ran my .5 OCC all the way up at 50 watts and it didn't explode. It was a bit harsh, lol. After using one a couple of weeks I switched to the RBA and haven't looked back. It was the main reason I got the subtank because I was tired of buying replacement coils.

I know someone who regularly uses the OCC heads at 40 but he tends to get dry hits.

30-35 is the recommended levels.

Yes it is. I've found the sweet spot at around 17-20 watts with the RBA. going past that it hits a couple of times fine then dry hits. I think I'll rewick it again because I think I got the wick too tight this time lol.

If you get the wick not too tight not too loose on the RBA going to 30 watts should be no problem

im using the Ni coils right now and i just soak the inside with juice. afterwards i install the coil, let it sit for 5 mins, and then just do a few 5-6s burns at about 450* to get rid of the excess juice. on the non TC coils i used to do the same thing but do 3-4s burns about 30s apart at about 25w on the 0.5ohm coils. never had any issues with flooding, spitback, or burned wicks.
