So in my shop, everyone is trying to convince me that the prince stick adjusts its wattage based on the coil. I try to tell them that its full 4.2v, so it powers like a mech. I use mine as a mech and habe tested my theory, but they wont budge.

What is the opinion in this? Cuz I'm convinced you can't slap any old tank on there and they say otherwise.

It's unregulated, but protected. It's like a mech delivering the full power of the battery (3.3 [I think] to 4.2 V [not counting any voltage drop]).

That said, the wattage will vary with the coil... The 0.25Ω coil, at potential peak, will use about 70 watts. Toss in a 0.4Ω coil, and you're at about 44 watts. Of course, those numbers will drop as the battery weakens.

Awesome. That was what I was trying to tell them.

I agree with Shawn. It is a "fixed" or single output unregulated mod that performs exactly like a mechanical mod. Allegedly, has some built-in protection circuitry, so can't technically be called a true mech. And since it doesn't have a regulator chip, it can't be considered a variable wattage mod.

Ohms Law applies with this device. Wattage output will depend entirely upon the coil's resistance and the voltage of the battery at any given time, just like a mech mod.
