Hi there,

We are sorry to tell you that your recent order is going to be delayed. We sincerely apologize and are doing everything we can to get your order out as soon as possible.

For your context, we're undergoing a few major changes that, despite our best efforts, are impacting our ability to get you your order on time.

We're.moving our factory.in Eindhoven, the Netherlands to a new, bigger location that will enable us to better serve you and the rest of the community. During the relocation, most printers will be offline, causing delays in production and shipping. Further, our recentpricing changes.caused a majority of models to decrease in price, while some increased. Spurred by this change, many people placed large orders during this time to take advantage of the changing prices. We saw an exponential increase in orders that far exceeded our expectations, and our ability to fulfill them within our usual timeframe.

The following order(s) is affected:.*******

Our team is working around the clock and exploring innovative solutions to get you your order quickly. We don't yet have an exact estimate on your new ship date, but we're currently experiencing an approximate 3 week delay. We're so sorry.

As soon as we have more information, we will send another email update, and you can refer to your.Order Status.page for the latest status. Once your order does ship, you'll receive an email with your tracking number. As a small token of our appreciation for your understanding, we'll upgrade your order to the fastest possible shipping service we have available.

If this timeline does not meet your needs, you can cancel your order in your."My Orders"page, or contact our customer service team.

We appreciate your understanding during this tough period and hope to have better news very soon.

All the best,
The Shapeways Team.

All the best,
The Shapeways Team.

I got the same email for the replacement PeKo top cap and ring which is to replace the wrong parts sent in my original order. I think shapeways is having growing pains and although they are willing to make it right (eventually) the process is taking far too long. I'm glad g is shopping his design with other vendors, if SW isn't careful they will find their business drying up as other companies step into the ring.

i wonder why moving a factory in the netherland would impact their ny location unless it's one centralized computer system but still ...................

Maybe they've been jobbing out some of their US volume to the European plants and then consolidating shipments back to the states? I guess you might be willing to take that cut so as not to lose business if you were over capacity at the local shop. Might explain some of the delays and variability folks have been experiencing.

I would opt for cerakote, but I don't have a spare oven or toaster to bake - and I don't want to bake in the oven I use for food. One big negative of the dyed plastics - if you mess the color up, you will have white splotches that you can't fix.

Is my wife going to kill me for trashing the toaster oven after baking Cerakote? I had assumed airing it out would help eliminate any residual fumes.

I cured mine in my oven. I no longer have the wife issue to be concerned about, but there were no residual fumes either.

I requested they cancel my order as it now shows Nov 10th as a ship date when the original ship date was Oct 16th on the order that was placed on Oct 2nd. Thats over 5 weeks to ship from order day. As soon as they refund I am ordering from Sculpteo since G has the Peko there now, it is cheaper than my original order, and supposedly 3 days turn around to shipping according to the website.

Just posted something like this over at the other thread......I spent a lot of time today on the Sculpteo site, uploading models, trying different configurations to optimize costs based upon their non-published pricing model. A couple of things became are very apparent. Grouped parts are much less costly than individual parts selected separately. And small individual parts are relatively expensive.

I uploaded a complete mod for the Peko. and the pricing is more favorable than Shapeways. Thats the good news. The bad news is that individual smaller parts like buttons and rings are 2-3x more costly. The site is live and you can check it out. White Plastic is uber cheap in grouped models. Much much less than Shapeways. Colors (including white) can come in unpolished or polished. The cost of these look slightly below Shapeway, Alumide is very inexpensive vs Shapesway...almost 30-40% cheaper.

Customizing with individual parts in different colors is a costly proposition. It add about 20% more cost to put together a full mod if you select individual parts. :(.

Lol Sculpteo has a strange way to do pricing...I just uploaded a part that has the ring and both high and low buttons and its less $ than getting one ring and one button separately. This brings the cost down in line with Shapeways. So it you want a matching ring and button, its like getting a 10% discount on the mod from them.

Anyone ever have an issue with Alumide? I was looking at getting white polished and Alumide ends up only $5 more. Even if I'm just going to be painting my PeKo, if the Alumide is a more resilient material with no drawbacks, it would be silly not to spend the extra $5. On Shapeways it's like an extra $35.

Edit, never mind, I just read a post where Gdeal states that Alumide prints the best and has a slightly smoother texture so there is my answer.

Ken I have the Alumide in the GDNA 3.1 and it is exquisite. In the sunlight mine has a pronounced metallic sheen to it. The color and texture consistency is unblemished. I think you will be very pleased with it.

What, my birthday isn't a good enough shipping date for you? Infidels.
