I have to agree with you on Protank II's. Oddly enough i WOULD recommend the Protank II mini to someone though. Its probably the best cheap tank Ive ever used. The thing is solid like a tank (the armored vehicle kind).

I agree that the pt2 mini is a great tank. As has been sugested also in this thread, using the mini base on a full size pt2 works good also. Much mire "airy" vape that seems to help people that have tight draw issues with the pt2.

That said, I have had to clean up chrome flashing from the air holes on a brand new pt2 to fix a draw problem as well as tighten up a loose atty (Chronicly comes loose @ about half a tank).

Kanger qc seems iffy. But what do you expect from such a low price point device.

Expensive tanks are fiddily too.

I've got a Protank 2 and a Protank 2 Mini now and I've been pleased with them both. They're actually what I bring to work everyday and have held up really well through the abuse I put them through.

I've also started rebuilding the coils for them recently and have found just the right resistance and amount of wick for me, so I'm saving money and getting an all around decent vape from them. Like anything else on the market, quality control can be hit or miss, but both of mine have worked flawlessly for me, even with me tinkering with the coils & wicks. For the price, I can't complain.

Hi. I gave up on Protanks and Kanger in general I just bought a VTR witha iclear 30s
and let me tell you its an awesome tank i bought another one and i will get some 16s soon
for my itaste vv i am using the 30s on my VTR MVP and cool fire 1 and was only
using protanks before The iclears blow the protanks outta the water

I hate to say it but I have to agree with this statement. I have 6 EVOD's and all of them get the same problems. It really is just a nuisance of this design. I really love the bottom coil tank design and when they work they work awesome but the problems that come with this manufacture are to common. I'm gonna have to switch to something else.

Since day 1 I've had issues with my PT2, it's usually fine until I get to the bottom third of the tank and then just constant flooding until I refill it. This makes changing flavors a bit of a pain. My girlfriend has since inherited it as she only uses 2 or 3 flavors and tends to keep her tanks topped up. She also has an aerotank and does not encounter the same issues as the pt2.

Like I said, put the aero base on a protank.

first one I bought I had to replace it because didn't work with any egos, didn't get any air, the second one worked for a while but then I had flooding issues as well, I bought an aero tank and it's been working great, the base can be switched between them, got a mini ptII and works nice, i'll buy the airflow control for the ptII and problems solved

I started out with the Evod's, then T3's, then PT2 and PT Mini, iClears, Davide. Got tired of replacing coils so I started rebuilding W/ cotton wicks and this quickly became a P.I.T.A for me having to deal with the small coil head. I could tell the coils, whether stock or rebuilt quickly degenerated after about a day at best and I started tasting the burnt taste of the coil/wick over the flavor of the juice. At the time I was mainly buying juice from Indigo, mostly tobacco's, nothing sweet, no coil-gunkers. I was really getting dissatisfied with my whole vaping experience, so I started back smoking on the side.

Fast forward a couple of months and my daughter came to visit for a week and had this thing called a Kayfun. She said "Dad, try this, you won't believe the difference" and oh boy was she telling the truth. I couldn't believe how great the flavor and performance was. When I asked her the price, I had to think hard about investing that kind of money in a vaping device....but by weeks end I had ordered the original Kayfun Lite. I don't regret a single penny now in the cost. It has turned out to be a great investment and I've never once had that nasty hot coil taste I once had to endure. When I add up the money I spent on various tanks for my wife and I...I could have easily bought the KF to begin with...and I went on and bought my wife the KF Mini...I'm happy, she's happy...we all is happy...Now!

Edit:...oh and that was 9 months ago and haven't smoked since.

Been using my PT2 for 3+ months now - no leaks, no gurgles, no dry-hits.

The trick is learning how it works (most common pitfall is screwing it down too tight and blocking airflow) and learning to re-coil/re-wick them. All my cotton wicks are made to suit the juice I'm using and the 1.8 ohm coil I built months ago is still vaping like a champ.

If you're just using the stock coils you're going to get less from it than you could - for the price, the PT is (in my opinion) one of the best made, best value-for-money clearos out there - providing you don't mind learning a little and maintaining it. If re-coiling isn't your thing there's probably better options out there (like the Aspire Nautilus).

It'll last me just fine until I can afford a KFL+

I tried all kinds of stuff with my PT2 and PT2mini, they were the first clearos I bought, and I had the leaking and gurgling here and there. Last week I went to my local vape shop and got some 2mm ekowool just to try out. Well yesterday my PT2 was leaking a little into the ego battery, mainly because it was only about 1/4 full. Anyway, I decide I'd try the ekowool and a normal coil build- I've been doing cotton and micro coils most of the time.
Well to my surprise I'd say the leakage is down probably 90%, it's minimal, maybe a spot or here on the battery post and honestly that could just be condensation. The tradeoff, doesn't wick as fast so no chain vaping, and from I've heard and read ekowool flavor is a little muted unless its fruity stuff (I currently have some banana pudding flavor in there and it is kicking).
I've made it through 1 whole tank with no gurgle or leaking, I'm still messing with this, but so far so good, my next teardown of it I will figure out a way to get it to wick a little more, not a big deal for me though I only hit this occasionally as it is the one I carry on my lanyard and I use my KFL for chaining.
After a few tanks I'll tear it down and take some pics or make a vid. Maybe it will help you out.
