I'm going to be ordering a VAMO v5 this week based on research and reading a million threads here and the only thing left to pick is tanks. I'm not quiiiite ready to start rebuilding yet so I've decided on getting a couple Pro tanks (cheap replacement heads) but I'm not sure which to get.

I see PT2 and PT2 mini and PT3 and aero. Aside from the size difference with the mini I'm not understanding the difference. It seems like the PT3 is the latest version but from what I've read here the 2's seem to be the most popular.

I appreciate any feedback yall may have =)

ProTank 2: Single coil
ProTank 3: Dual coil
AeroTank: Dual coil with adjustable airflow

Same applies for the Mini versions. As I prefer to rebuild my coils, I'm staying away from dual coils, as that would probably require a bit more skill, than what I'm capable of doing. So I'm using the ProTank 2 :)
Hope this helps you a bit, just remember, that what some might love, you might hate, when it comes to e-cig gear ;)

PT2--an improved PT (you can take it apart for cleaning, use your own drip tip, all parts are replaceable).

PT 3--same as PT 2 but with dual coils.

PT Aero--same as PT3 but with airflow control base.

If you want a single coil atty--get the PT 2. If want a dual coil atty--get the Aero. PT 3--don't bother.

BTW, if you want a PT 2 with an improved airflow, get a PT 2 and an airflow control Aero base (sold separately) and use it instead of the PT 2 base (with no airflow control) that comes with the tank.

Got it? :D

I use the PT 1 & 2 and rebuild my coils, kind of easy once you get the hang of it. On a side note, I have 3 Vamos, but the SVD out does them by a long shot. Built better and looks like it just came out of the box....I am not easy on my devices. Dropped off of roofs, on the pavement getting out of vehicles, built like a tank. I don't know if the Vamo5 has copied the features of the SVD, but it would be worth your time and money to at least give it a look. On another note, I am looking to pick up the MVP2, Itaste really makes a durable and reliable mod.

If you're getting a vamo, get the one in stainless steel (stronger threads). If you are dead set on a diff finish (such as black chrome), get an ego to ego adapter.

Protanks are not my deal, as they don't seem to have enough flavor and bottom coils are a bit too cold of a vape for me... But, the protank II mini I had for a while did function well enough.

Thanks for the quick answer!

If you have a second could you elaborate on why you prefer the SVD? Is it just durability or looks or is it more? Thanks =)

You said you aren't ready to build coils "yet". If you ever reach that point, you should know that the PT2 offers the best IMHO platform for rebuilding in a clearomizer. When rebuilt, they are a totally different animal. I am using a lot of RBA's now, but I still vape my rebuilt ProTanks all the time, and I learned a lot about building on them.

I read that as well and it was a big part of my decision. I do want to get to rebuilding. I've only been vaping a little over 2 weeks and my head spins at all the options out there. They are also pretty affordable so I'd like to eventually have a bunch so I can have fresh flavors at my fingertips.
