I've never heard of using hemp twine before.

In any case, I tried one of the soaked heads but it wasn't wicking very well and had a burnt taste, so I took it out and popped in a new 1.8. This time, when I removed one of the top wicks I made sure the other one stayed to the side (I had been leaving a single top wick in the center). It seems to be going very well at 7.5 watts. Not sure if it is just a better head, the wick placement, cleaning the tank, or changing the head in a half full tank (allowing the wicks to soak easier and resist burning when you first get it going) that helped. I guess we will see next time.

I still like the 2.5 ohm heads better than the 1.8, which is something that worries me about building your own (building your own seems to result in low resistance).

I build 1 ohm micro coils for my protank and run them on a mech at 4.2 to 3.8 volts with no problem . Ohh and thats 17.5 watts on a fresh charge .... 15 watts is where I change batts lol

I hate the stock protank coils and will never buy one again I stopped using the thing for a month because of those cheap poorly made out of spec p.o.s coils

Yeh they burn juice like nobodys buisness and its because of the sizes of the wire used for the coil its friggin soooo thin its like a human hair or smaler ! It just heats up too hot too fast and burns whater it touches.

Useing 28g kanthal micro coil solved that problem and my rebuilt heads last 2 or more weeks with nothing but a wash and dry burn when changing flavors
