Hi y'all,

First post ever. I am a member in some sports, politics boards. Regardless of what it is, never have I seen such a friendly and helpful board as EC. I have learned so much here.

A month ago, I built my first RTA with the Griffin 25. No problems whatsoever.
Today, I had a most miserable day with my brand new UD Bellus. Using a Kenta double coil (0.6 ohms rated), I get a 0.28 ohms after the build, on a ohms meter. Satisfied with that, I put the tank all together, but my regulated mod won't fire because the final ohms reads as 0.02, too low to fire up.

After replacing these coils with the ones that came with the tank, I get similar issues, now reading 0.05.

I must be doing something wrong when reinstalling the tank back, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it is.

How can the total ohms fall so much after putting the tank back together???

Any ideas would be appreciated.

What happens with other tanks on that mod? Sounds like a poor connection at the 510. Could be the tank or the mod. If another tank reads properly, look over the 510 base on the tank. If all your tanks exhibit the same behavior, it's a problem with the 510 connection on the mod. Simplest way to test out where the issue is.

And welcome! It is a nice bunch of people around here. You'll get the tank sorted out. It actually is a nice performer, s sorry for your initial grief.

Eskie,

Sucess!

The problem was the 510 connection on the atty. It was a bit too loose. I wish I had posted this earlier and save myself a pair of coils. Lol

Good vapor, great flavor. However, the build is not as easy as the Griffin 25 because the Bellus has only 2 screws and a smaller deck.

Once more, I thank you. You saved the day.

John

I've just recently got the Bellus (running it single-coil @ 0,8 Ohms with SS316L 3mm dia) and one thing I noticed was that you've got to mount the coils quite close to the centre post, as especially larger diameter coils tend to snag on the ring when you mount the deck otherwise.

Other things I've noticed is the ability to mount the coils higher or lower which affects the airiness of the draw because of where the air intakes are mounted.

Glad you got your resistance problem sorted out, anyway - and enjoy the tank - I think it's a good one. It certainly has it's own character.

The other big thing I learned about using the Bellus in single coil mode was, remember the single coil adapter before you fill the tank.

Eskie,

Quick update on the Bellus. I unscrewed the adjustable 510 all the way out, review the parts and put it back together. Since of the posts is connected to the 510, this exercise tightened up that particular post (it was a bit loose).

Secondly, since the deck is on the smallish side, the coils have to fit no longer than the underneath ridge below them. For some reason, if it sticks out, the mod won't fire it up. In my case, the mod kept on reading 0.05 ohms, too low for my mod.

All in all, I will not purchase another Bellus. IMO, there are better tanks if RTA is your thing.

I thought sharing my experience would help others. I would love to hear if someone has also ncountered problems with the Bellus.

Hi Continuity, please read my latest post. I am in total agreement regarding the positioning of the coils.

This tank is finicky! Lol

I absolutely love my Bellus, it has been by far my favorite tank of all time, only time I've gotten low ohm's is when I built my coils too big and they were making contact with the inside of the chimney, I wouldn't go bigger than 2.7mm for coil size, currently running dual coil 26g SS316L, 7/64th drill bit ohming out at about .38... I've already ordered extra glass for it and I'm going to probably order a second bellus as a backup... I'm waiting on my EZ to come in the mail, going to test that and may not get the second Bellus if I like the EZ...

Between my bellus and my velocity I'm set for the day, I was given a UD Anzu Dripper to test out and honestly I'm not a big fan, I really wish the bottom airflow was independent as that is what breaks it for me...

I was actually given my Bellus by youde to help come up with ideas for the V2 which I suggested quite a bit of things including a larger/easier build deck, same with my EZ on the way! Youde/UD is a great company, absolutely love their products and the people, one of these days I'll get around to buying one of their mods...

I actually picked up a second Bellus on clearance from eciggity for only $20. My use is quite different limited to single coil >1 ohm use. It's been a great tank for that (as long as the adapter is in place). I can see the limitations in design for large dual coil arrangements, and there are better choices available for that use. I'll be looking forward to seeing what V2 is like when released.

The Bellus is perfectly do-able - it'd call it an 'advanced' tank for experienced vapers, but once you know what it's quirks are, it's easy after that.

To mount coils of anywhere near 3mm, you have to mount them close to the centre pole - much closer than you would with more conventional tanks that have bottom airflow.

So long as the coil lines up with the 'Cyclops' airhole in the side, you can't really mount it *too* near the centre post, so long as it doesn't touch it.

@JohnWT - use smaller coils of 2,5mm and/or mount them closer to the centre pole so they don't snag on the chamber when it's mounted - that'll fix your problem.
