Well, I'm now the proud owner of a new Jazz Cartopipe. And kudos to romaniac for this beautifully designed and crafted device that looks like it should last a long time. But I'm having a problem: the vapor I'm getting is plentiful but terrible tasting. It has no flavor of the juice I'm using, just a burning electrical taste.

Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing my problem? The pipe uses cartomizers. This is also my first time using a cartomizer, but I THINK I have filled it correctly. The juice I'm using tasted good in a clearomizer with an eGo. But it's terrible in the cartomizer/pipe. Please help!

Ok cool. How many drips did you drop in? My XL cartos hold about 40 drops give or take a few.

If you used too few drops you might have burnt the filler material. If that's the case the burnt taste won't go away no matter what.

If your juice is really high in VG it may take a while for it to saturate the filler.

It could very well be. Drip a couple drops, wait for it to get sucked down, drip a couple drops, wait for it to drop. Keep doing that until it no longer seeps into the filler. Best to do it with the carto out of the pipe in case it starts leaking. If you get too much juice inside the shaft it can eventually swell the wood and crack it.

If that doesn't get rid of the burnt taste then your filler is probably burnt and you'll have to break out a new carto.

It could be another issue, but Romaniac is METICULOUS and if you got it straight from him (ordered new from jazzepipe.com) I seriously doubt it's an issue with the pipe itself.

Yes, I did get it new from him, and I can't imagine the problem is with the pipe itself. At first I did think there might be a problem with the pipe because I wasn't getting any vapor at all, but I think maybe the first carto I tried is defective. I switched out the cartos, and then got plenty of vapor, albeit bad tasting. (But maybe the first carto didn't even have enough liquid in it to vape at all--I think I filled it with even less than the second one. I may try filling that first carto more and see if it works then once I get things working overall.)

No problem at all. Glad it's working now. Cartopipes are fantastic.

I'm already ready to agree with that statement. I'm a pipe smoker, so this is just the type of vaping device I've been wanting for a long time. A few years ago I tried some of the first generation e-pipes, with disappointing results. Romaniac's pipe seems like the real deal! Thanks again for your help!
