I filled the DCT by filling the tank a bit more than 3/4 and then filled the cart. When I draw on it I get a gurgling sound which I think means I got fluid into the cart hole -- is there a way to get that fluid out? It also seems like I'm getting a bit of juice leaking. I'm getting a lot of vapor and throat hit, but it's got a bit of a burnt taste. I tried putting on an 808 cartomizer and it works and taste very good. Could I just have a bad DCT? Is there a recommended voltage to use with the twist with the Smoktech DCT?

You should fill the carto first, put it in the tank and, just before it reaches the hole in the top, fill the tank 3/4 full.
Always blow out the carto after you fill it. Wipe it down with a paper towel first. I blow from the mouth end, but it really doesn't matter.

What voltage to use depends on the resistance (ohms) of the carto, not the type of tank you have.
If you have the standard Smoketech 1.5ohm Dual coil carto that's usually included with the tank, start at 4 or 4.2V and crank the voltage up depending on your taste. A dual coil carto works best between about 4.5-5 volts.

I think you'll have a lot better results with the 1.7ohm Resurrector carto or a 2ohm ST or Boge Carto. With a DC carto, you're severely limiting the voltage range you can use on the Twist. DC cartos are really cold below 4V. If you like cold vapor, that might be o.k., but you can get cold vapor with 1.7ohms at 3 volts and, if you want, you'll be able to choose more than the 7.7 Watts a DC restricts you to. A 2ohm carto is ideal, given the Twist's voltage range.

Most juice tastes best, and most people prefer, a range of power between 6 and 10 watts.
With a 1.5ohm DC carto and a Twist. Possible range of watts = 3.6 - 7.7
With a 2ohm Carto and a Twist. Possible range of watts = 5.4 - 11.5
With a 1.7ohm Ressurector and a Twist. Possible range of watts = 6.4 - 13.6
