if your subscriptions are glitched do this first:

Delete all of your subscriptions, make sure your profile is set to do not subscribe as the default thread subscription mode. give it 24 hours then resubscribe. If this still fails please contact us through the contact forum and we will get with you and work through it.

Another point that has been brought up by our vB tech is that some email services ( gMail is an example) have prefiltering of email. If you are using a client like OUTLOOK or THUNDERBIRD, these prefiltered emails are not downloaded. You would have to log into your web interface and check the junk folder, then mark them as "not junk" in order for them to start coming to your client.

While this may not be your issue, Harry does bring up a valid extra point in the troubleshooting process.

Actually, I recently starting using Thunderbird w/my Gmail account, and the spam messages show up in my spam folder. I did nothing special, that's just where they seem to go. :)

I use thunderbird too, but rather than set it up for POP I have mine set up for IMAP, in order to get the gmail junk folder I have to subscribe to it (since ny thunderbird is set up with spam filtering via SpamAssassin)

Mine's IMAP too, but I don't have SpamAssassin, or any other controls. I've had this account for years, and get remarkably little spam (maybe 4-5/week?) - mostly just the junk pharmacy ones.
