Yea. My first "write-ups" came a few years ago - my first year in retail - I worked Thanksgiving... I was mortified places stayed open. I never shopped on those days so I was truly oblivious. A customer came in to shop. I saw her wondering the store, walked up and said "Happy Thanksgiving! Can I help you find anything today?". She looked at me then said as if she thought the door was left open just for her and no one was working..." Oh my goodness! They make you work on Thanksgiving?? That's such a shame! You should tell your boss its a holiday for family!". Stunned at myself for not smacking her I blinked a few times and right out of my mouth - before I could stop it - I said "If you people would stay home I wouldn't need to be at work!".

My DM was not impressed...

I don't care if they have door buster values supreme. Thanksgiving is a day to be with family and friends. We will never be a customer who shops on that day. Never, I'm telling you.

My retail shop (The Zen Factory Outlet) is closed thanksgiving and Black Friday... And since the ZFO is located at the factory, we're closed every Saturday and Sunday as well. The woman that works my outlet store asked what her hours for Black Friday will be... I told her the store is closed from Thanksgiving through Sunday. I thought she was going to cry, she was so happy.

My business is family first. "But Zen... think of all the sales you're missing out on" ... Yeah, They are not more important than spending time with family and friends. If I go out of business because of being closed on that day, there's something VERY wrong with the REST of my business.

We do some crazy stuff... If Christmas or New years day is on a Tuesday, we take Monday off as well, so they can have a 4 days off... If the holiday is on a Thursday, we take Friday off for the same reason. If it's on a Monday or Friday then they have three days... When it's a Wednesday we take the eve and the holiday off... People like working there. We kinda "get it".

USPS still has my p3 - hasnt moved since it was check in on Monday the 9th. sadface. The vendor doesnt care, USPS gave me a case number. Hopefully it shows up next week..... SUPER SADFACE

Generally I've found that once I open a case with them the package nearly immediately and magically shows up. Good luck!
