The atty that came with the prodigy was dead on arrivial, no big deal right?? So I found 5 attys on sale at totally wicked, I got 2 packs so 10 attys, those shipped 9-20-09, the last one burned out yesterday, 2 out of the 10 did not even make a puff of smoke. These are 801 attys,,,,, are other people burning thru this many this fast? 11 attys under 2 months, I have 20 ordered thru bestcig, but I will be without for days maybe weeks, as my shipment only got sent like 5 days ago.

I have tried everything, putting one drained battery with a fresh charged one,, making sure the atty is soaked. When working I am dripping 5-6 drops all the time, like 30ml in about a week and half.

Is this all normal?

I had a similar experience with packs of attys (901 and 801) from totally wicked, and not only by using them on the Prodigy, but also on stock batteries. So far, in something like 3 weeks, 5x 801 and 6x 901 attys are dead (some were DOA)...The titan (510) also lasted 3 days before the vape started to become a real pain, its battery was and still is the weakest 510 battery i used so far, and the PCC that came with it discharges itself, all alone like a grown up kid, in an hour or two...So there goes the whole kit...useless. Not to mention that in a pack of 5x 901 batteries, 2 were also DOA...so far.

All this to say that I don't think that the Prodigy has anything to do with what you experienced.

what voltage are you guys running?

out of all the attys i've ordered fro myself i have 3 "dead" and that why by my own tinkering hand... exploded an 510 atty trying to figure out what was inside, overtightened a 901 atty (i sorta fixed it but tastes like the glue i used), and a 306 atty that i was picking at the wick.

i've only been doing this for just over a month though.

Nothing is normal.
I used to have an atty problem too. The 801 atty is the most misunderstood piece of equipment ever, yet when used correctly it's by far superior.

You cannot power an 801 atty with 3.7 volts.
It needs minimum 5 volts to 6.5 volts.

Then comes the quality of the atty itself.
Some 801 atty's SIMPLY DO NOT WORK.
Get some BE112, for the time being those are the best there is on the market.

I hate to be contrary but I found the BE-112 burnt out in my Prodigy. I find the best is with a high bridge atty. Vaporkings.com sells a quality High Bridge Atomizer.

My method of Vaping is that after the cartridge has broken in I fill with liquid than fluff out with a set of tweezers.

I have also found that the liquid you use is important. I've had my best results with ecopure liquid cignot.com either alone or mixed with a PG product. Ecopure doesn't burn and seems to be the right consistency for the prodigy.

During the day I put the prodigy atomizer end down and allow the E-liquid to drain out through the bottom.

Good to hear I am not alone.

As for voltage,,, it is a PRODIGY, plain stock one. Came with 4 batts and a tenergy charger.

I have went thru a ton of juice, 30ml of some cheap flu cured stuff, over 20ml of johnsoncreek stuff, right now I on a bottle of TN cured, very tasty stuff. Since all my attys died, I back on the 401's, and I replaced 2 attys on them, 1 I burnt up, and 1 is weakish. But the 401s still work. Just it will be over a week at the least to get my shipment from china. And the ones coming in will be the be ones everyone says work great.

I will say you get spoiled on the prodigy real fast, a few drags and you can sit it down, the 401s are so small compared. I thought I could use both, but the hits off the 401 is so weak now.

I still have all of my original 510's I got from TW back in June when I first started vaping.
I've picked up a few of the SS 510's from PS and have a few of their black ones that I got with the PV's I've ordered.
I flush all my new atts with everclear to wash out the primer, rinse with hot water and let dry. Reprime with VG and put up for use. I use ECOPURE exclusively (think I'm PG allergic) and change to a fresh att every couple of days or so.
I clean the attys on the weekends with the same method as described above.

I have a few 901's and 801's but don't use them that much. Wash them the same way and the only losses so far are from exploratory surgery. The 8 & 9's are OK but I prefer the 510's. Just what I've gotten use to using.

.

5-6 drops, 10- 20 drags on it then another 5 drops, but that was with the totally wicked attys, these new ones do not seem to burn as hot. The new ones are kicking out very full vapor with a nice smooth taste. Maybe it was just the TW attys that were bad. That was all I ever used tho, since the stock atty was DOA with the prodigy, now I get to compare to the be112s. I will report back in a few days, as I just got the new ones a few hours ago. I now know to keep a bigger stock for the prodigy. If I burn 3 a week I have a 5 week supply now, next week I will order more and more juice I guess. Shame these thing do not last longer, seems alot to be throwing away.

I know I've posted this on here a few times now, but here are our tips for keeping your attys in good shape- you should never go through 3 a week unless you're really burning the living crap out of them.

1. Let the unit rest when the atomizer tube gets any warmer than luke warm to the touch.
2. When breaking in a brand new atomizer, drip 5-6 drops on the atomizer, then 4-5 after every 4 puffs or so. As soon as you notice a change in flavor, redrip.
3. Blow out atomizers regularly, and allow them to drain over night.
4. Be sure not to screw the atomizers onto the unit too tightly, as this will push in the contact points at the bottom of the atomizer, and cause it to short out your entire unit.
5. Do not depress the button for more then 2-3 seconds on the 901 or 510 atomizer, or 4-5 seconds on the 801. You can continue to draw in after releasing the button, but holding it down for any longer than that could result in popping the atomizer.

I've been using TW 510 attys as well and (knock on wood) not a single one has decreased in performance or died and I have been primarily using my Silver Bullet and VP2 Mods very heavy. I feel their attys are really good so far. I still have yet to try them all as I bought 2 510 starter kits each with 2 atomisers and 2 5 packs. I did have an issue with one of the ones in the five pack that seemed to over heat and I sent it back. They sent me out a new one and 10 empty 510 carts which I thought was very cool.

I have never tried this atty but i am 99.99% sure it's a brand of SLB.

there are a few things to know about all 801 atty's.

2 out of 10 will work badly
2 out of 10 will work superbly
6 out of 10 will work so , so.

so no matter what brand of atty you prefer, be prepared to find some good and some not so good.

I will try to keep it wetter, and not hit it as much. I maybe should just buy another one and run two at the same time. When one gets warm then smoke on the other.

I am useing a cart as well, and I keep that wet to.

Well
there's part of your problem right there.
You are using a cart with a TW atty at 5volts. (actually 5.4 volts)

TW attys glow instant orange...they should be used for dripping only.
