Prodigy Atomizers... (510)

I just got my prodigy (and I love it)...
But the only atomizer that works with it is the one that came with it.

I have approximately 10 510 atomizers on hand... All from different sources and the atomizers look a little different inside than the one that came with it.

Am I missing something???

hmmm .... Rita ... can you post pictures of the difference in *insides* ?

Also if you could put the one you got from us standing side by side to one of your others. It may be the length of the male contact end on the 510 atomizers you use ... If they are sourced differently, they may be short? That would be my only guess at this point!

Out of 12 510 atomizers I have, two didn't work with the Prodigy. They're both Titan style and the reason they didn't work is that the threads on the atomizer are just a hair larger than the threads on the others I have. They screwed in almost all the way, but wouldn't screw in far enough to make contact. That may be what's happening with ritalee76's atomizers too. I did actually get both of mine to work eventually by carefully screwing and unscrewing them until they worked their way down far enough. Emphasis on carefully, because the fit is so tight that I could have easily twisted them in to the point that I'd need pliers to get them back off the adapter.

I can't say with 100% certainty that all of them come from there, but I know Rita uses at least some atomizers from TW. I saw the devil logo on her kit.

If the threads are too deep, would lengthening the center post on the adapter fix this? Can it even be lengthened and still make contact with the switch? IIRC, the 801 issue with BE112s was that the post had to be shortened.

Sure, the center brass post can be lengthened, BUT, those 510's that then didn't need that extra brass will end up sticking further out ... Its a matter of tolerances really ... we try to keep things as open as possible for all the number go atomizers out there, but we can't guarantee ALL of them :)

Oh... I didn't mean that you should lengthen the actual post on adapters sold. I was wondering if tapping the center post a bit from the inside might help...

She could ... Flip it upside down and tap outwards .... Small taps though -- Don't want to slice the Delrin :D

Well, I couldn't get my 510 attys to work and I tried this. Just like Steve said, turned upside down, a few taps and...it works!
I still have some that don't work but I've got one going now. It is a 510 atty with a wide brass band at the battery connector end.
Now I will have to go through all of them to see which ones work but at least it saved me from having to send back the 510 adapter.
Good thinking, Steve!

I started on the 901 atty. ordered a 801 for vaping around the house.
When I first started using the 801, I was very disappointed. It was hard to get good vapor, and the flavor was off. BUT, after a day of vaping and breaking it in, and learning how to run this bad boy... all I can say is WOW! Awesome vapor, very good flavor. This thing hits like the best Bada Bing ever could!
Now it's a toss up between the two, (801/901). I am leaning towards the 801 as my favorite.
Once the atty is broke in... it is an awesome vaporizor.

I have a problem with my 510 adaptor too. The 901 adapter that came with my device works great. I ordered and received a 510 adapter to use up all my 510 attys and not even one of them work with it. I also tried a Joye 306 atty and it didn't work either (same fittings). The 510 attys are the TW Titan type and a whole lot of the ones with not any brass showing from the outside except the ring (from LF, but they are the same Joye ones that most places have). All these attys work with 510 batteries. I don't think the center post is making contact. This is really hard to tell on the 510s, though, because the contact is all recessed. The attys don't seem to screw down to the bottom of the adapter. They run out of threading (on the atomizers) before center post contact is made.
Should I tap the center post from the top, or should I screw in and unscrew an atomizer really carefully until it finally makes contact, and if I have to do that, would I have to do that on every one, or just once - in other words, would it push the center post down on the adapter, or would it just do something on the atty?
I have made sure all the other contacts are working - I even took a wire brush to the top of the switch and bottom of the adapter to get all that "new brass gunk" stuff off, and I can test the voltage through the top of the adapter fine - just doesn't heat any atomizers.
Thanks for your help, everyone!

I'm having the same issues with my prodigy. At first no atomizers worked. I took out the switch and resistor and found nothing wrong. Then I started putting it back together checking voltages as I went and when I got ot back together it was working with the new atty. Don't know what was wrong.

I tried putting on one of my older atomizers and it wouldn't work. I played with position of the center conductor on the atty with no results. I put the new atty on that came with the kit and it worked fine. During this process I seem to have lost 2 of my older but very good atomizers. They no longer work even on a stock battery. I am going to get back out the multimeter tonight to see what's going on. For now the prodogy is working on the new kit atomizer and I'm not changing it until I discover what happened.

This prodigy sure hits a lot harder than my 5v passthrough and I wonder why?

My 510s stopped working with Prodigy completely yesterday. Nothing I did worked. I just came to the forum to find the post I remember reading long time ago about possible solutions.

Well, I read a tip in a different thread for the Passthrough adapter and thought maybe it could work with the 510 adapter in Prodigy. It did! I don't know if this is just a fluke, but it worked for me and might be worth a try: when you screw the 510 adapter on the Prodigy, release it slightly so it is not screwed tight.
