prodigy help!

got 2 prodigy v1 and 6 bats 3trustfire 14500 and 3tenergy14500 both 3.7 when i used the first one it vaped pretty well for a couple minutes then very little took the battery out put it in charger red light came on but within a minute light turned to green meanwhile prodigy not producing much vapor with either bats try to charge them but put them in and green light just comes it actc light i'm getting weak battery so little vapor but can't get them to charge first time i've used one of these am i doing something wrong?

The Prodigy (V1 or V2) is not designed to work with 14500 batteries. Two 3.0V RCR123a Lith-Ion LifePo4 batteries are intended to be used.

I'm puzzled. Puresmoker is pretty clear about that on their website.
