A couple of questions for you Prodigy veterans:

1. How many hours of usage are you getting out of your stock Tenergy batteries and what's best tech to prolong the life of these batteries?

2. What's a good replacement battery for the Tenergy?

3. Should I purchase a voltage meter and what's the best way to test the batteries?

Thanks!

I don't know if I qualify as a veteran having only used it for about a month. I get between 5 to 6 hours on a pair of the Tenergy LiFePO batteries.

I think the stock batteries are the best for 5 volt usage. They are rated at 2000 cycles of life which is twice as much as the Li-Ion Tenergy batteries and 4 times as much as the Trustfire Li-Ions. These LiFePO batteries will not catch fire or explode.

I think anyone using any e-cig should have a multimeter.

It depends how many puffs you take per minute.
How long do you push the button down for when you take a puff?

It's like asking how many miles do you get per gallon...depends how you drive..

It's impossible to answer correctly.
The stock batteries are the best though...that's for sure.

I usually get 5-6 hours out of my tenergy batts. On a different note, I've found that Eastmall 801 attys (the ones that have a fake wood grain look) produce a much better, smoother, hit than Puresmokers 801 attys. I'm not real sure but I think the Eastmall 801 attys are a 4 hole design. I have one that I've been vapin' with for around 4 months now and it is still going strong!

Would you say that the eastmall holes look like this?
There's 4 of them on this model.

Thanks for the feedback. This sounds about right as I think I'm getting about 5-6 hours per charge right now. How long does it take for these batteries to stop holding their charge with daily usage? I guess another way to put this how long can you use these two sets of Tenergys before needing to replace them with daily usage?

I'm taking 5-6 second hits on a regular basis on my Prodigy and PS/PT.

The specs say you can charge them 2000 times.

To be honest, I notice not-as-good performance after just a couple of weeks of rotating two sets. You can stretch 'em out awhile and they'll still work... but you'll notice the lack of oomph.

Go ahead and stock up on the things when they are available, because they all tend to disappear at the same time. There've been times when 3 suppliers I know of were out of stock for ages. If you go through this once, the sight of a fresh set of Tenergys will make your mouth water.

That's a shame. I had expected much better performance than that. I didn't expect 2000 cycles but even half of that would be about 2 1/2 years.

Meh. That'd be great, but I'm actually OK with spending $20 or less (definitely less, in a bulk purchase) for two weeks or so of dependably powerhouse vaping. And maybe you won't notice the drop in power the way I do... people experience these things differently.

I'm just grateful to have a strong, reliable PV that doesn't make me mess with batteries all day long.

I do notice when the power falls off and I imediately swap batteries. I have noticed the power band drop on all the batteries I have used. I have noticed the "sweet spot" gets shorter the more times the battery is charged. I don't try to get all the use out of a battery, I can't stand when it is not putting out the full power.

I would expect to go through a couple of sets of batteries every month or 2. 2000 cycles is under ideal conditions (kinda like EPA estimated gas mileage), discharging to just the right charge, and charging right before use, slow and steady power draw, perfect temperature, etc etc etc.

you can get them for 3 bucks each. 6-12 bucks a month on batteries...not bad
