Hey guys,

Prety new to this forum still, but I just wanted to say thanks everyone who has contrubuted to this site and helped me personally. The abundance of information here is great for someone just getting into or thinking about making the switch to vaping. I know you guys get the same question day in and day out... What e cig should I buy ect... From noobs. So thanks for your post/replies ect. Coming from a noob it does help. Anyways I got my first ecig kit on Monday and have been smoke free since, never felt better and it's only been a few days. One thing I've noticed while vaping it that it makes me damn thirsty...like a thirst for water I have never had before in my life. Is this normal/ a comin side effect? I do find certain vapors make me more thirsty than others, only have three kinds though, dumaurier, players and ryk. Any flavours you guys would recommend?

Pg and vg are both humectants. They love water. That's why so much of the vapor you exhale is water vapor. It will definitely dry you out, so drink lots of water. As for flavors, the sky's the limit. There's a lot more than tobacco flavors, which I personally find rather awful. Buy some small samples or sample packs of whatever strikes your fancy. You may be surprised at what you end up loving.

top 2 sites in Canada imo are 1. Jugheads.co and 2 Flavourcrafters.biz. Both offer sample packs. Juggy's is closed for the next little bit but is one you MUST try out when you have the chance. If you like tobacco flavoured then you have to try the Karamellowbacco. Search for Funky Vapes vids on Youtube and watch his review of it. The face he makes is the exact same one I make everytime I vape it.

Congrats on making progress! They really are quite fantastic and they work for most people like nothing else ever could. The variety of both hardware and juices can be quite bewildering, but if you just take it one step at a time you can begin to explore bit by bit and have fun while you do it. :)

Flavourings in particular can be overwhelming, because really, there are many thousands of flavours and variations on the same flavours that you'll really never run out of new things to try. It's really just finding the few that you really love and can vape all day that's the real challenge. :)

Welcome and congrats on your success! Never worry about asking a question that you think has been asked before. Heck ... I still scour the forum in search of answers and ask questions! Once you get your hardware down, finding the flavors that 'do it for you' becomes both the fun part and, sometimes, the frustrating part. My advice would be to always get just samples first to try. That way, if you really hate one, it's no big loss. I've given away (or thrown out if I couldn't find a taker) too many 30 ml bottles in the past. Don't limit yourself to what you 'think' you might like either with the samples. Some of the best juice I have vaped was from samples that I didn't even know what possessed me to order them in the first place. :D

Also as mentioned above, ejuice does dry you out - it's the nature of the beast. Something I found really helped when I first started (but that was also 100% PG juice) was to have a hard mint candy in my mouth while I vaped. Kept the saliva going and sure cut back on the sore throat that so many of us experience when first starting. An added benefit was that the mint taste combined with whatever flavor I had and it usually even improved the experience!

The most important thing is that you have found something that helps you get off the cancer sticks and kudos to you! Don't be a stranger here at the forum. It's a great place for advice, tips and just good old fun!

One thing is for sure I'm really looking forward to trying jugheads juice. I have read nothing but positive things in respect to them. They will open again right? Why are they closed? I'm defentilly gona try the mint thing seems like it would work great. The flavours I have seems to do the trick. I just mix them up periodically though out the day, which seems to keep me from smoking. But leaves me craving the dirttyness of a smoke so friggin bad if that makes any sence. I don't really have a favorite flavour...

He will be back. He needed to take some time off, one for personal reasons, and two because Customs has been screwing him over with stock he's been expecting. (Flavourings. Yes, flavourings. Not nic base, not cartomizers. Food-grade flavourings. I wish I were making that up but he's not the only one it's happened to recently.) Basically a lot of crap has converged on him at once so he needs to deal with everything so he can get back to doing what he does best, and he decided to close during this time rather than potentially provide poor customer service because he's stretched too thin.

He should be back up by the end of the month or first week of May sometime, he tells me.

Congrats on making the switch Birdman! I still remember how awesome that first week was for me. I didn't realize how crappy I felt until I actually stopped smoking and starting feeling better.
In terms of which flavours to try? Just let 'er rip. In under three months I have purchased well over forty different trial size bottles (10ml or less) from different Canadian vendors. The only ones that I have since purchased a 30ml size bottle after was Flavour Crafters Export Tobacco and Grape Tobacco, as they are the closest thing to analogs for my taste. Like everyone says, have fun with it, and welcome to a healthier you.

Welcome birdman and congratz on getting to where you are!

I have been doing this for about 3 weeks ..a month? and it wasn't until my last order I found something that really seems to do it for me just perfect ( so far anyways ).

As everyone else has said, so many choices of what to try, so the best thing is samples samples samples, that way you dont feel so bad if you ordered it and it isn't to your liking. Just shelf it and who knows if you find someone else who vapes they might love it :)

Taste is so subjective, especially when one is trying to find that certain something they think they are missing from an analog.

The better half and I are complete opposites on what juice we like, every once in a while we will find one we both enjoy but more often than not, what I love she doesn't and what she loves, I think she is nuts to!

LOL!

There are a few in here that review Canadian supplier juices so that is a good start, to give you an idea if what they are describing is something that seems to interest you and your tastebuds.

+1 for the FC Export. I'm also picking up a big bottle of that next time. Same with the Mac Maurier. As much as I love the Export I think the Mac is even closer to the analog experience, if that's what you're looking for. Try a sample of it next time, bet you'll like it. A little dryer/grassier than the Export. I'll try the Grape Tobacoo next time as well; our tastes appear to be similar.

Another suggestion. Being new to this also (1 week and analog free), there is something I would have done differently with my 1st juice order. I only ordered high strength nic believing I needed this to get me off the analogs. I now find that it would have been better to also order a few of the low strength nic juices to balance things out if you feel you're absorbing too much of the nic, particularly during prolonged vaping. I feel during certain times that I'm simply getting too much nic. My next order will include 0nic, 6mg and 12mg strengths allowing greater flexibility in finding that nic intake sweet spot.

Most newbies will pick higher nic levels during the transition & this is probably a good thing. With some time, lower your nic levels gradually. Maybe 1 level per order until you've confirmed your tolerance. Most will say nic level and throat hit go hand in hand. For more throat hit, you may need higher levels of PG in your mixes with the lower nic juices. Having 0 nic is great for those days when you feel you may have vaped a little too much but want to keep on vaping.

Lastly, If that 6mg doesnt work out for you, I'll take it off your hands.:)

Here's another tip: if you find your nic level is too high, add 50% glycerin to it to knock it down a third or 100% to knock it in half. I got 100ml for $2.99 at the drug store, so it's really cheap. However, glycerin is thick, so if you find it's too thick just add a little distilled water or vokda to it.

Would single malt Scotch work? ;)
