proper transportation / leakage for 510

So I've been carrying my 510 fully assembled with cartridge on and all my backup gear in a carrying case.

I left the assembled 510 in my pocket and noticed later a wet spot the size of a quarter in my shirt pocket. Should I be removing the cartridge and capping it off whenever i'm not using it to prevent leakage? or is there a proper way to handle this thing without leakage?

I do it all the time and have never had that happen. If I know it is a fresh cart or I just topped it, I put it mouth piece down, otherwise I just drop it in my shirt pocket.

It was a relatively full cart... and I usually keep it cart side down when its in my pocket but it may have fallen over so that it was resting horizontally in my pocket....

Now I'm keeping it cart side up since I'm not sure WHAT is going wrong... maybe my shirt fabric wicked it out of the side of the cart where meets the atomizer.

Hi guys, The 510 (and others) will sometimes seep a little juice buy wicking it from the cart down to the battery connection. just sometimes. Makes it look like a pen leaked in your pocket or something.
I just cut down a piece of 3x5 index card to pocket shape and put the e-cig in the pocket behind it. this keeps the juice away from the front anyway so it isn't noticeable.

Kind of low tech fix I know, but that's all I got. I haven't heard of anyway to stop the leak. Putting it cart down works some but when you go to use it, it takes a minute for the juice to wick down to the atomizer.

I was kind of considering scotch taping the circumference where the cart meets the atomizer... but maybe not the easiest solution to work with drip-wise.... i think i'll just be sure to dismantle and cap it if i'm not going to be using it for a little while.

Hi guys, don't use the tape. The juice and the heat turn the tape glue into a sticky mess. Besides, if you tape it you get no air by covering the air intake holes around the sides.

So this has happened with only one cartridge, or does it happen to you with many cartridges?

I've never had one leak... was this a factory cart right out of the package, or one you've refilled? If a refill, you want the top of the filling to look moist, not have visible liquid in it.

I found a case on ebay for about $10 with postage that will hold a fully assembled e-cig. I just did a search for e-cig case and it came up. I just ordered it last night and if anyone is interested, I can let them know how it works.

Dumb questions, as I'm not really a newbie anymore...but I didn't realize it's best to keep our e-cigs cartridge end down. I keep mine in my purse in a cigar-holder type thing with an open top. I put it in there with the cartridge up. Maybe I was thinking that if it's cart end down, the liquid will seep out? But now I see that if you keep it cart end up, liquid will flow down from cartridge into atomizer, is that it? But is that a bad thing? Since I drop a couple drops onto atomizer when I refill my cart, I thought it is okay for the atomizer to get liquid on it. Of course, you don't want any liquid to flow down into battery.

Anyway, I'm going to start keeping mine cart end down now. Thanks for mentioning this, y'all.

I always keep mine cart end up. Never a leak. I think this leak was cause by having the cart end down, as the juice flows back through the cart. I have had a leak when I have inadvertently left it cart down...............

works perfect for the 510. remove the spray top, clean, dry and fits 1 assembled 510 perfectly. even water resistant (not proof)--took it to a water park and worked great.

I had 1 cart that was a bit loose and was leaking.

The reason I had leakage was my carts were loose on the atomizer. I have a new delivery of an atomizer and carts that snap on tight. I guess the lesson is, if you don't have to apply force to get the carts fully onto the atomzier, your carts are too loose.
