Hey guys,

I bought a DSE 801 penstyle from E Liquid Planet about a week and a half ago.

I have the cartridges modded with the straw mod, and they work great.

However, even on a full cart, I'm getting burning.

I've tried blowing out into a napkin and then dripping one drop on the bridge and putting in a fresh cartridge and it works well for a bit.

Now that doesn't seem to work as well anymore. It's burning even on a full cartridge and even after I blow into it.

How can I clean this? I'm using an automatic battery.

I looked at the Highping method and it made the most sense to me, but I don't have a manual battery to dry burn it.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure that your atty needs a cleaning so much as your carts aren't wicking to the atty. If you're priming and it seems to work well, then suddenly it doesn't, that means your carts aren't letting the liquid down to the atty. It makes for a nasty, burnt taste. I would suggest checking your cart mod again and making adjustments if needed.

Are you vaping in quick succession? Power vaping can also cause this. There isn't enough time between vapes to let the juice wick, even with a straw mod. Long draws, filler that needs to be rinsed, atty primer can all be culprits in the burnt taste. You also try using cartos. The only reason I even make this suggestion is because most people end up ditching the carts and switching to cartos.

Eh I don't think I'm vaping too quickly, I stop before the cutoff and most of the time my atomizer doesn't even have a chance to become hot to the touch, just warm at most. If I pull longer than 5 seconds or so, it'll heat up.

I think that by now the primer would be gone lol, this just started yesterday :/.

I can't seem to find cartomizers for the 801, I have a bunch for my old 4081 that were pretty great, but I didn't get much flavor out of them.

This is a brand new cart as well, but I can try rinsing it.

Another thing to note is that if I direct drip, I don't get much of a burnt flavor at all.

I shouldn't be dripping into an auto battery, but it's definitely something I noticed.
