Hey guys I got a bottle of e liquid from a company called eliquidexpress. There is a warning on the bottle that has a proposition 65 warning. For those who don't know what that is (I didn't have a clue myself), it is a warning issued in the state of California to be placed on chemicals known to cause cancer. Since this warning is left to the discretion of the business owner, I figured I would contact eliquidexpress myself. The website for this business is now for sale and there is no way to contact them.

I am certainly not trying to pass information, just trying to get some. Has anyone gotten any eliquid with this warning? or know anything more about it? Any info would be a great help. Thanks

I've received furniture - yes, furniture - with that warning label on it.

The chemicals they use to fireproof the stuffing is the reason for that. Just don't roll and smoke your couch, and you should be fine.
;)

The way things are going, I fully expect kitchen faucets to come with a warning label one day. Cause, you know, people drown in that stuff all the time....

<---- Recieved a bottle or two like that too, and chalked it up to good ol' Calif props and the fact that eLiquids still have to prove themselves under all kinds of situations.... vaping eliquid while drinking artificial sweetened orange soda pop may induce cancer causing situations if the soda is warmer than 50 and the eLiquid is vaped while in the shower and you're using Irish Spring bar soap.

JMO, but sometimes these warnings are silly. Almost anything can cause cancer. Breathing the air might cause cancer, but you can't put a warning label on it. Better hold your breath because breathing might be hazardous to your health. Just like the warnings on coffee cups because, you know, hot coffee might actually be HOT!

You'retalking about liquidxpress right?
Their website is still there lol

I have a bottle of Honey Flue cured from them that has that WARNING on it as well.

I dunno but I think that Tobacco absolute is derived from tobacco itself and that might be why it has that warning on it

I'm sure Rob could answer that question tho....

Right, nicotine can only be purified to like 99%, so there will be trace amounts of carcinogens, these exist in all nicotine things like gums, patches, etc aswell as the liquid kind we use. But it is only trace amounts, and like has been stated, pretty much everything in our society contains trace amounts of some bad stuff or other.

EDIT: This podcast (vplive) interview with michael siegel has good and useful information on all this: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/vapersplace/2011/01/17/an-hour-with-dr-michael-siegel

Hi all,

Thought I'd just clear up the situation. Bass thumper is correct in stating that the site is still up, it's not eliquidexpress, it's LiquidXpress. :) Also it is on the advice of our attorney, since the nicotine is tobacco derived and in the state of California, any products containing tobacco have to show the prop 65 warning label. Hope that answers your questions, if you have more you can email us directly or just contact us via our contact us page on the website.

Yeah, I figured. We've become a lawsuit-happy nation and you got to cover your .... everywhere it might be exposed, or some nimrod will sue you over something.
