I just bought a 500 ml bottle of propylene glycol USP from London Drugs and noticed that the bottle has a warning on it. It says :
"avoid inhalation or contact eyes. If contact wash eyes with water for 15 minutes.Get immediate medical attention"

This sounds a little scary to me and I don`t know what to make of it. Has anyone else seen warnings like this on propylene bottles? Should I return it or what? Thanks for any input.

Seems as if you purchased a chemical with too little research. If scared - send it back. Propylene glycol is basic ingredient for sizable portion of e-cig users that frequently "inhale". Most do not put it in their eyes but I think many do inhale. But if warning mentioned troubles you - best to send back and do some research on issue before any reorder.

I don`t get it, with all respect what is all this condescending go read stuff ! I only inquired because I have never seen this warning on a bottle of propylene glycol and was wondering if possibly I had bought something with different ingredients. JW50 this is a ecig forum, I guess you thought I wanted to make what.... milkshakes?

They have since moved on to other propellants..P.G. was used at one time for people who had lung surgery. It's not bad..just outdated for that type of use.
We are not getting as much in the lungs as you might imagine. Most of the P.G. is left in the mouth or the nasel passages..vaporized form.
P.G. is found in ice cream, lipstick ect., it is what makes things stay creamy and not crystalize. It's also used for stage shows to make fog and as a laxative. The use that may be most recognizable is that it is used in tobacco to keep the tobacco soft. Untreated tobacco becomes brittle like a dried oak leaf. So you have been using it burned for however long you smoked.
What you need tokeep in mind is the USP lable..that is safe for us mortals.
You can find P.G. Usp in farm supply stores by the gallon. Glycerin is the same stuff but thicker. I use it to add some vapor to my liquids. (just a bit will do, so you don't dilute the flavor.)

randonlight - Lofty condescendence is not the intention. But there are some oddities here. You have purchased bottles of PG multiple times you say in past - for inhalation purposes (DIY). Yet on August 7th someone tells "avoid inhalation". What were your thoughts of the prior inhalations? And, you asked the question "should I return it". My suggestion was - by all means return it if what "someone" says concerns you. What do you think about returning it vs inhaling it?

Well I guess on top of knowing nothing about the subject I also don`t know what lofty condescendence or sarcasm is, darn I was sure that your first post was full of both. Guess I`m just no super member. Anyway getting late here suposed to be a nice day tomorrow. Goodnight.
