Either way I'll be getting a Kanger eGo battery to go with it. Just thought I'd ask someone with more experience. I want to be able to conceal it easily so something bigger wouldn't work that well, thus the eGo battery. If I had my way, I'd get an istick 30w with a subtank ;) But sadly I only have about $40 to spend. I'm getting everything from Mt. Baker Vapor as well.

If you're stuck with either the Protank Mini 3 or the Evod 2, it's a toss up. they both hold about the same amount of liquid, they both use the same coils, one is black, one is stainless. Oh, the Protank mini uses a glass tank and the Evod is probably plastic. So if you're vaping a tank cracker, I'd go with the protank. Otherwise, it doesn't matter.

Get an Aspire K1. I have no love at all for mini PT3 or Evod 2.

I was asked to review them (got them sent) and then refused. To be honest, the mini PT2 was better than all those dual coil disaster tanks. They need more power, power which you won't get from regular batteries.

You can put BVC coils in the ETS, but as a tank it sucks. The K1 is far better. Don't even try the cheap plastic BVC (CE style) they are about the worst CE model ever produced. The threads strip in about 10 fills.

I would suggest an Istick 20w with a mini protank 2...with all the advances in technology, getting the Evod batteries will just have you wanting an upgrade real soon. As a plus, the Istick would power the pt3 better as well if that's the tank you want. Either way, pick up an air flow control ring for the protanks...makes a world of difference

I just realized I can get an iTaste MVP 2 starter kit that comes with the mod (obv) an iClear 30, charger, and free 15ml of juice of my choice from Mt. Baker Vapor for $35... so Ive decided I'm either going with the Protank 2 Mini with an eGo 900 mAh for ~$31 OR The iTaste kit for $35. But the problem is I can't decide... I need some opinions? :D

They're basically the same thing. Especially if you can find a glass evod 2. If it's a regular the only real difference is that the pt3 is made of glass and the evod plastic. Which makes the pt3 more durable. You can get an airflow controller for the pt3 as well which enhances the experience. Either way you won't have any trouble hiding one of those. And I've been vaping over a year and I still use my regular size pt3 and both sizes of EMOW and they use the same coil. Still love them.

Another option would be the Aspire ET-S... don't know how that stacks up against the other two though
I have a few of those lying around. Total pain in the ... with leaking and gurgling. Those coils don't like me. If you're gonna go aspire get a mini nautilus. Still small but much better experience.

I have found my Evod 2 tank. It was in a box marked "Z.A" = Zombie Apocalypse...

In the recesses of my main box, I found a pack of coils. So, in the interests of comparison, I'm going to vape it!! ... on a Spinner.

(I'll report back...)

As for the MVP v..2 kit... the MVP is a nice mod, although now considered under-powered.
Mine came with a iClear30, which is a nasty piece of work too.

I have found my iClear30S and these were quite decent, from what I remember.

None of these are particularly good compared to Aspire K1, Mini Nautilus, Eleaf GS Air "M", subtank (1.2ohm), etc. That's just evolution for you.

Good luck. :)

The protank 2 is a good tank (mini as well). I still use mine. Yeah it's not going to give you tons of vapor or anything, but it's a solid piece of equipment and it's what got me to fully switch to vaping initially. The pt 3 or any of the kanger dual coils get a big thumbs down from me though.

I think an ego and a pt mini 2 is a great starter setup.

The Kanger eGo battery, from what I've been able to find, is a 3.7 V regulated voltage output (normally I'd figure this is just the "nominal" voltage rating). This is very good for single-coil Kanger devices such as the EVOD (1) and mini PT2, although maybe not as good as a small variable voltage battery (the single button controlled type are cheap and also seem tailor-made for single coil Kanger). It will not fully drive EVOD 2, PT3, or Aspire stuff which can need 4.2 volts or more (4.2V will burn juice/coil in regular EVODs). They also can need more than 10 watts. A *good* Spinner type battery is usually sufficient.

The iStick batteries are great, but they do need an adapter (included) to go to the eGo thread of most of the above mentioned clearos. Even with a 510 thread clearo I wouldn't want to run around with one in my pocket the way I can with a small, cheap EVOD. Also, the iStick 20 has a flaw that the settings may not go down far enough for mini PT2's (at least, the setting needs be lower) which the 30 watt doesn't (don't know about the 10). It might be best for now to get a small easy-portable/backup unit and save for something bigger next month.

Kanger just came out with cotton wicked, vertical coil versions of the dual coil form factor coils. I don't know if these are better than the Aspire's or just Kanger playing catch-up. Of the single coil Kanger style, I like the mini-PT2 for clean-tasting, possible tank-cracking juices, but the EVOD has more flavor -- with some tobaccos, perhaps the most flavor of anything ever made (yeah it makes no sense).

Definitely the MVP. The iClear 30 is a good tank, but you might want to look at an Aspire Nautilus down the road. Either way, the MVP/IClear cimbo is much better gear.

I have a pt3 and an aspire k1, and i can tell you the flavor is much better with the aspire coils. ive always disliked kanger's dual coils. they just dont produce enough flavor even at 10+ watts.

i still have and use a genitank, which use the kanger dual coils and i end up rigging one of the old single coils up with a new coil, cotton and an extra seal and it works like a charm. with the aspire coils, they are great stock, right out of the pack.

Does the iClear 30 drip tip get annoying? I don't think I'd like the moving tip. Of course I can always get another drip tip if the threads don't interfere with a non-threaded 510 tip. Does anyone know if you can do this?
Non removable drip tip. It's part of the top cap. You can find it for order with the adjustable or fixed tip.
