Protank adaptor and Vammo = not working ( 9.9ohm)?

When I use the adaptor that came with the protank with the Vammo, I get a 9.9ohm which means the vammo cannot detect the protank.

When I remove the adaptor the pro tank works.

Does anyone here have the same issue? Thanks

If you are refering to the ring that comes with the protank you cant use it it will not allow the protank to screw down all the way. If its a airflow adapterthen i cant help you i have never used one of them.

What Murphy said. The Vamo is a flat-top much like my Z-Max. The EGO-threading is too far receded into the device to screw the "beauty ring" all the way down as it should and still have room to screw down the pro-tank far enough to make connection. The "beauty ring" is only really ment to be used with pretruding connection heads, as a matter of fact im using my Z-max with the pro-tank on top at 6.5W rockin just fine n lookin good...Hope this helps. I use a tank air-flow adapter with the Protank on my Vamo without problems - makes the vape much less airy which I greatly prefer.

Yes I was referring to the one that came with the kit. is that what they call a air flow adaptor?

If you want to use a beauty ring on the Vamo, you'll have to get a straight sided one, pictured on the left. The one that came with the pro-tank is on the right.

The only real advantage of using a thread cover on the Vamo (apart from tightening the draw a little) is that you can screw the head down tighter to the cover without hurting your threads on the Vamo. Gives a rock-solid setup.

I tried using the ring on my Vamo but it will not work. The ProTank has to be screwed down so far that there is really no need for the ring. My ProTank is flush with the top of my Vamo

I found the same thing as hvac999. My ProTank screws down plenty far enough without the ring.

Although I do find if I screw it all the way down, the airy draw that I like but lots seem to dislike goes away. The air holes are just about the threads on the ProTank and the Vamo V2 I just got covers those holes when the ProTank is screwed down. I actually leave mine just a little bit from screwed all the way down to allow the airy draw.

I am sure you all know, but be careful when tightening down heads too tight to your PV. You can push the center post on your PV in and damage it. That's the main reason for using the straight sided beauty ring I linked above. You screw that onto the threads and then tighten the head down to it, rather than the threads.

Just my 2 cents, your experience may be different.

Aglet - thanks for the picture and explanation, everything makes sense now. i thnk what confused me was that I read some posts that there were people who used the angled ring with the protank and it worked. I guess in our case the angled beauty ring does not work and is not necessary.

I thought the beauty ring was an ego battery thing. Why would I use it on a Vamo with the threads not exposed in the first place? An airflow adapter is really good on the Vamo to protect threads and on the Protank to reduce the airy draw. Did I miss something?

Issue solved with Vamo V3 removable top ring. I use the Protank beauty ring to give a more stable base on mine, then slip the top ring over the top and tighten
