Well I have taken my first step to rebuilding my protank coils and have a quick question...

I want to know about the size of the raps in my coil.....I decided to rap them a little bigger than the standard size coil that they came with and wanted to know
if by rapping them bigger am I doing anything wrong?? Do you think you get better vaping by rapping them bigger or smaller?? And whats better, cotton or silica for more vapor?

I have been using organic cotton but do have silica wick on the way(would have had it but amazon seller didnt put it in the package sent to me with my kanthal wire and is sending the missing silica to me now)grrrrrrrrrrrr and my silica when I get it will be 2mm

They still fit in the area I have (be it small) area I have to work with but when i buy them new the coil is much smaller, and I was getting a better amount of
vapor with the bought smaller coil. But they were leaking a lot more with the smaller bought coil and my bigger rap coil never leaks.

Thanks for any info in advance...Rob

setup:32 gauge a1 kanthal wire at 5 raps for 2.4-2.8 oms

I actually built my first protank coil today. I haven't really used them cause I prefer my vivi novas with the top coil. I just got a wild moment and decided to see if I could make them more to my liking since I have several protank 2 types. I used 30 gauge kanthal and a 5/4 wrap of 3mm silica which is new since I usually use 32 gauge wire in the novas. It gurgled a bit at first but once I got the airflow adapter on it I was amazed. Darned thing works pretty good. At least they won't be sitting around collecting dust anymore.

when raps smaller, the burning area will be small, but the e-liquid come in is same as before, so less liquid was consumed, then the rest of them will be sucked to your mouth. How to solve it ? I suggest use a Aerotank airflow control vale, to change protank 2 or 3 to airflow control ones.

When use smaller coils, using the big airflow, so less liquid will come in, so no leakage problems.
Hope it will help you !:)
