    No you can't
I use 32gauge Kanthal and cotton swabs from cvs cost $3.79 life time supply of cotton. Five turns of wire give me 2.0 ohms. I wrap the coil around a 16 gauge needle pull the coil off and dry burn it with Bic lighter than put the coil back on the needle thread cotton into the needle install coil with wick into slots in the head using the needle and cut the legs very last thing I do is pull the needle out of coil; screw it on to the base and prime the wick finished.

When I rewick; pull out old wick wash coil dry burn than thread 16 gauge needle thru coil and insert a new wick in the tip of needle withdraw needle out of coil trim wick and FINISHED takes 3 min and I'm done.

I wet(damp only) than twist the cotton in my fingers to compress the cotton prior to threading it into needle

I use my coils until it shortens out almost never have to make a coil.

By using a 16 gauge needle you get just the right amount of cotton not to little or too much and I don't use a flavor wick.

16 gauge needle is just the right size.
