Hello, this is going to be my first post on this forum.

I just bought a Kangertech Mini Protank -II (V2) today from a e-cig vendor. The vendor was very knowledgeable (it seemed to me that he was anyways) about e-cigs in general; he recommended the Mini Protank V2 to me since I was still new to vaping.

I came home and was very excited to try it out since it was fifteen bucks compared to the CE4 clearomizer I had yesterday which was like three bucks. I took my first hit after I poured in my liquid and the vapor production was just awful; it was like nothing compared to the CE4 clearomizer, in terms of vapor production anyways. It also tasted very airy and it wasn't a very nice experience overall (the protank that is)

I tried to maintain the same pressure and amount of time that I drew from the CE4 and Protank V2; the CE4 had significantly more vapor production but it tasted burnt (expected because I dry burned it too much like a .....) The protank still produced less vapor and more of an airy flavor.

Is the Mini Protank V2 suppose to be this way, less vapor and more airy flavoring? I noticed it came with a metal ring with holes in it, do I have to do something about the holes to adjust? I also noticed two little rubber rings; are these relevant to my problem? Could it also be a battery problem because of the dry burning?

Thank you in advance and sorry for all the typing!!

I have same issue with my PT mini 2. I have to take a few little puffs first then go for the real thing. I still like it tho. Due to its size and ease of cleaning. Priced right for my budget. I've watched review on you tube that showed how to take out one of the wicks and it might help with vapor production. Havent tried it yet, but I think I will.

Welcome to ECF Hoooowl, are you using the mini pro tank with a ego twist or non adjustable battery? What head do you have installed? Possibly you have a 1.7 coil in and your old ce4 typically have a 2.2 or 2.4 ohm installed.

If adjustable battery try different batteries. Did you prime the tank with puffs and not pressing the fire button?

Here is some tips on this stores website too.

I use the mini pro tank 2.5 with standard kanger 1.8 ohm coils and its one of my most reliable and best vapor producing tanks. Use it on a ctwist usually around 3.7v or itaste vv3 around 7 or 7.5 watts. I love it and usually carry it along with my mvp and pro tank 2 with a different flavor as a mid day flavor mixup.

If you are getting low vapor production, there is a chance that your atomizer head isn't wicking properly for the viscosity of your e-liquid. If you are using a 50/50 blend or a juice with a higher VG level, you need to remove one or both of your flavor wicks. Also be sure to take a few short, fast, unpowered primer puffs (without pushing the button) to get the vacuum started in your tank. Be sure to let your tank sit for 10 minutes or so after your fill it so it can wick properly. Hope this helps! My Mini pro is one of my best vapor producing tanks with a rebuilt head and a higher VG liquid. It's just magical when you tweak it a little. Also, the holes in the base of the tank are for airflow and cannot be adjusted. If, after working out the kinks on your atomizer head, your draw is still too airy, then you can use a little glue and cover up one of the holes in the base.

I just celebrated my complete transition from cigarettes to e cigs by purchasing a Mini Protank II in addition to the much larger Protank I already have. I've noticed so far that the Mini Protank II seems to put out much MORE vapor than the Protank, but I'm thinking that may have more to do with the juice and the fact that the mini tank has brand new coils.

While I originally liked the much larger size of the original tank, I've found that my taste buds get rather dulled vaping the same flavor for that long. I now use the mini so that I can shake up my senses throughout the day, which has worked wonders. Switching for just a few drags on a completely different flavor makes a world of difference.

Oh yeah, it's also nice to be able to use the same coils for both, since I just purchased a pile recently.

kanger has failed once again with the protank and protank mini protank 2 protank mini2 and mini v2. have bought all these tanks (regrettably) and not one preforms up to par. i use 50/50 exclusively and no matter what i do with these stupid things just wont wick. i have tried everything from 0 flavor wicks, to all flavor wicks, to recoiling it myself to using cotton wick. they will not wick worth a dam. been vaping for 2 years now and have never seen a company release the same crap device over and over again in a different wrapper. they need to get their act together and put together a tank that can handle anything but 80/20vg. i have spent countless hours fiddling and rebuilding. this protank 2 v2 is the last straw. i was foolish enough to think they improved it for some reason, but i was let down once again. a curse on their houses.

i have taped up 1 hole on it to tighten the draw and create more of a vacuum effect. it works sometimes but and only on some heads with all wicks removed. frustrated

i don`t think kanger has failed at all. i have protank 2 and protank mini 2`s and they work fine. they are too popular to be failures. you will not want to hear this but most likely operator error if it does not work right. i even bought protank 2 clones from fasttech and they work flawlessly. says the guy who just started vaping....laughable. you ever hear about QC? you ever hear that kanger has prob one the worst quality control procedures in the industry? they have been releasing flawed devices for years. you wouldn't know that because you JUST STARTED vaping. please dont try and school me on user error crap. the problem with ALL protanks is they allow too much air. it depends on the device its being used on and how much air flow the power source provides. with the mini because the air holes are on the body of the device, no matter what power source its screwed on to it wicks poorly. a air control would greatly increase the performance of this product or simply removing some of the air holes. removing some of the air holes will cut of the draw some what and allow more juice to come into the atomizer chamber creating a vacuum which would lead to better performance you would think... however the design kanger has come up with over and over again inhibits the ability for juice to be pulled into the chamber without severely cutting off air flow which makes the draw insanely tight ie. putting tape over 2 out of the 3 holes. the REASON the protank has such a airy draw is because in CHINA where this product is made, the eliquid sold there is mainly pg base. their eliquid is very thin so they tend not to worry about air control so much hence why they installed these "flavor wicks" because without them their juice being so thin would fall through... but i am sure you already knew that since you know so much.

second, if you think the protank is so great, you have NO idea what a good vape is then. i actually feel bad for you.

just because something is "popular" doesn't mean its a fantastic product. this has been proven in the sales industry for oh i dunno since the turn of time.

here you go smoknomocigz this video gives a new vaporer a better perspective of the value that air has.

I'm new to this also and after trying a Vivi Nova Mini, I tried the Kanger Pro Tank 2 Mini and found I liked it. But like you I thought it was way too airy and didn't seem to produce the vapor that the Vivi Nova did. After searching on the forum I found this blog (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/fabricator4/5045-bottom-coil-clearomizers.html) discussing bottom coil clearomizers and I did two things. I switched to a 1.8 ohm atomizer and I flipped the rubber grommet on the post of the atomizer. Much better vapor and tighter draw. So far no leaks or other problems. I run the Pro Tank Mini on a eGo Twist 1000 mAh set at about 3.4 to 3.6. I'm probably going to get one or two more to be able to switch out flavors easily. So far, 6 days without a cigarette and don't feel I need one. This, after 30 years of smoking and trying everything else under the sun.

wow, without watching the video link and after reading your post i just have to comment. i started vaping on a halo triton starter kit. my next step was protanks on ego batts. yes i`m a noob and have been using protanks exclusively for a month and a half. what a fool i have been. all these juices i have found that i enjoy vaping in a protank and now i see that i have been doing it wrong. thank you for your input.

I tried to quit smoking and came to this forum a few years ago. Failed miserably and though happy for all the people here who were cigarette free ... I ended up back on them. To my surprise my eGo is still working and so is my old 510. Unbelievable but I see that times have changed and I was excitedly awaiting my new Ego Twist 1000 mAh and my Protank Mini2's. I was hoping that I will succeed this time but I may have started again only to fail again after reading some of the posts here. I hope I am one of the lucky ones who loves their Protank Mini2 and finally get off the cigarettes.

I have one thing in my favor. All I have to compare my new stuff too is a 4 year old 510 and a 3 year old ego with atomizers. Surely my new stuff will be a big improvement.
